Habs Want a SCORER – Will ONE Be AVAILABLE?

They are back for another Habs Summer Targets video. Today, they discuss the NHL Draft 2024 and the Habs’ selection. The biggest question is: Habs want a scorer – Will a scorer be available? Don’t forget, the NHL Draft Lottery 2024 is on May 7th, 2024.

  1. Montreal can certainly pick at 4, they would just have to trade up to that spot. Not too difficult if they stay at 5.

  2. I've been saying the Habs need a Goal Scoring C/W forever I think. Habs finished 25th? for Goals scored this year, same story last year so the need is pretty obvious. I'd be happy with Lindstrom or Catton or Eisserman for sure as they seem the most likely to be Goal Scorers in the NHL too. I stand by that statement. I was a little suprised that none of you even hinted at taking a RD who scored more than 100 points in the OHL. If Parekh is there at the Habs pick, would they take him? It would potentially allow the Habs to package Guhlie with another players/prospects/picks to acquire a Top 3/6 forward…It's never easy, and almost always impossible to pull off those trades for a Top 3 C/FW for sure. The thought of having a 100 point RD on the Habs blueline for the next 15 years….Hmmmmmmmm…….

  3. I am impressed with Marko's analysis of Catton's game. Indeed, most people are mainly looking at how many points Catton got this season. Are his main skills translating well from junior to the NHL ??? 👍

  4. Guys, … Habs need size, skill, I.Q., speed and intimidation ( a nuclear deterrent )( ala Svetchnikov or Brady Tkuchuck) . If Habs do not get apick at first 3 ….. then trade away your 5th or 6th or 7th pick…. Because those picks are SMALL SHRIMPS. We already have too many shrimps in the organization who will get battered in the NHL playoffs. … If Habs get Demidov at number 2 or 3 pick then trade away Caufield in a ( 3 for one ) ala Frank Mahovalich in 1971. …

  5. Can someone explain something to me: Last year it was a draft loaded with talented forwards and the Habs picked a 15th place d-man (Reinbacker). This year we have a draft loaded with future superstar d-men and the Habs will pick a forward. Is it only me that thinks that we have the most incompetent drafting department in all of professional sport?

  6. silayev could go as high as 3
ive also heard that eiserman has dropped below iginla at 20 .

i now know that all this speculation came from basu .he was the one that put a fw in everybodys heads .

this is a d heavy draft in my opinion . to not partake in that is crazy talk. to assume risk when none is needed ? crazy talk.
the value of a first pair d is more than a second line winger .if the habs draft a fw it would be going off the board imo .a risk for a need .just like they did with kk….

everybody thinking the same thing . is par for the course in habsland .
after going along with the crowd .ive decided to deviate and pave my own path .

that path leads to parekh . isnt the point of rebuilding a team ,to get better than what you have ? he would be better than anything they have . a fw "could" be better . that involves risk i dont want them to take .

    gohabsgo

  7. I have no problem taking another defenseman . Can always trade for a forward later etc.

  8. Great picking game! Interesting to watch… I think Iginla would be a very good pick if the Habs are on 5, 6 or 7… If hes gonna be half as good as his father, Montreal can consider itself very lucky 🙂…
