Canes grabbed a loss in NY vs the Rangers for Game 1/Round 2

Mike Maniscalco, Carolina Hurricanes PxP, on what he saw from the Carolina Hurricanes and what they need to do to get a win in Game 2.
Some people are frustrated with a lack of goal scoring from this recent addition. What does Jake Guenztel need to do to change things around? Was it too much of a layoff for the Canes? Who should be in net for Game 2? Where were the Canes biggest mistakes in Game 1?

  1. Rangers dominated this game entirely thank the refs for any luck for the candy canes home ice advantage wtf is that shit in Rangers country? GFY Rangers in 4

  2. As far as the canes answering right back on the Rangers first goal, it was a lucky ass goal and it was a fluke at best never should’ve went in, so don’t say that canes deserved that goal and worked for it. It was a shot directed at the net deflected by one of the Ranger players straight down and it bounced straight up over his shoulder again never should’ve happened a big fluke.

  3. Did I hear this guy correctly? "The teams were pretty much even in the first period"? Haha, were you actually watching the game? The Rangers dominated period 1, period 2 was basically a draw, and it wasn't until the third period you guys stepped it up.

  4. This is like listening to Biden spin it that the economy is wonderful!!! This is a joke…Rangers flat out dominated from the puck drop and only looked defensive the last three minutes when Canes were pulling their goalie. Their goalie is not the problem at all…it’s their missed assignments on the Ranger power plays, the dynamic and creativity and speed of the Ranger power play that is hard to defend against. You could have put Hextall and Hasek in net at the same time on the power play goals and the end result would have been the same! Pull your goalie after one game and you will wreck his confidence and see how the Rangers will light the Canes up. The Rangers are the most dangerous team in the playoffs this season. How does anyone have them as “underdogs” after the season they had and their last 20 games?? Trust me, it’s in each of their lockers and it is meant to piss them off and the Canes got the brunt of it last night. Rangers will be done with the Canes in 5 maybe 6 games.
