  1. We've just gotta trust in steady steve
This might be an amazing call, and we're all looking back on this day as 'The Turn Around'

  2. The big thing I keep coming back to is Rick Tocchet. I was among those who panned Vancouver's choice last year as a guy who had never had success in the NHL, and yet it's gone really well for him so far. So, maybe I don't know everything that I think I do.

  3. 2 min in and Positive Pillsy in on the copium, but I'm trying it out too, feels like home!

  4. Hopefully Travis green is just a filler aka "easy to fire" option so they can hire a bit more of top-tier coach in a couple years.
I'm not so sure coaches are as susceptible to rejecting certain markets as much as players would be with them being generally a bit older, kids already grown up, they don't have $50 million dollar contracts to lose to taxes, etc. But maybe I'm wrong and nobody wants to be in Ottawa.

  5. I was disappointed at first. But will obviously give him the benefit of the doubt. I like this old videos of training camps. No country club atmosphere there. We'll just have to see

  6. And as usual Ottawa is a small market. Those top end coaches have much better options in much better markets. At least it's not John Gruden

  7. I think Green could be successful if Staios builds a team for him. Now go get Sarros or one of the Boston goalie(Swayman or Ulmark). Good luck to Coach Green and all the best to you. Hopefully he is successful

  8. If none of the big names wanted to come I would have preferred an inexperienced coach rather than an experienced coach with a mediocre track record

  9. I'm just wondering what is the point in cheering for this team that players never want to come here, coaches dont want to come here. Players always seem like they want to leave and when players get forced to play here they never seem motivated to play hard. How are we even going to ever compete when everything is always against us?
There is a difference between overreacting and realizing the truth.. I dont think this team will ever win anything. It's also embarrassing always having other teams fans out show our fans in our own building, imagine how the players must feel (like losers)..

  10. I had some hype with this team, but right now, that hype is dying out really fast. Of all the guys, McLellan was my guy. Travis Green was my very last choice. Im not hyped with this at all. The guy doesn't even have a winning record at all, and was with Jersey!! Im seeing a soft team getting softer, and if this keeps up, good luck to this team.

  11. Staios doesn’t know what he is doing. Best in class my ass. Cheap cheap just like the old ownership. Let’s see how he screws up the rest of the team before September. He will have more excuses when they don’t make the playoffs again.

  12. Green had a weird go in Vancouver. They were a team in transition from Sedins to Petterssons rookie season while going through Covid. Ownership headaches too. He was a highly thought of coaching prospect before Van. Let's hope he lives up to the old hype with a new team. GSG!

  13. Not only do I hate this hire, but…nope, that’s it. I hate this hire.

We can't hire a guy with a losing record. I didn’t want an inexperienced coach because he might be bad. But I definitely don’t want a guy who has already proven he’s a bad coach.

Guys, I’m losing hope. I’ve watched so much bad Senators hockey. My hope was a coach who could make the team better than the sum of its parts. And this is that.
