That 3rd period was absolutely INSANE ! A goal right off the bat, absolutely no air for Vegas to breathe, and Otter hyper focused ! If the Stars play like they did in the 3rd throughout the rest of the playoffs, they'll go home with the cup no matter who they are against !
Last year the Kraken defeated the defending champions (Avalanche) in Game 7 of Round 1 and lost to the Stars in Round 2. This year the Stars defeated the defending champions in Game 7 of Round 1 and will lose to the Avalanche in Round 2.
They conveniently didn't put that call on Oettinger in the highlights, proof that the refs will do anything to give the NHL's favored team chances they didn't earn in order to influence the outcome of a series.
Uh oh…does this mean Bettman loses all his Vegas comps? That's the only reason I can think of that the NHL didn't close the ridiculous LTIR loophole…Gary's favorite team likes it.
