Matvei Michkov-mania already running wild in Philadelphia | PHLY Sports

Nothing is official, it might not even be likely or nearly as true as is being reported right now, but there’s a possibility Matvei Michkov leaves Russia for the Philadelphia Flyers sooner than expected.

And the mere suggestion of Michkov in Orange and Black have Philly fans excited. Charlie & Bill discuss the impact Michkov is already having on the fanbase, and what it will be like when he does arrive, whenever it may be.

  1. This sucks he isn’t coming over and if he does maybe we’re like a better off blackhawks. Michkov is small as hell to I think he might be durable but still a bump off the puck is all it takes and he’s just another brink

  2. My family had season tickets when Lindros came here in 1992 and it was THE story in the town. In fact, Lindros used to dominate local Sports Talk Radio during that era compared to these days where they completely ignore the Flyers. I was at his first game in 1992 against the Devils (they had missed the playoffs 3 years before that) and you knew that in a few years we would be a Cup Contender. Thats all I want as a Flyers fan is see a direction that there is light at the end of the tunnel. There are no guarantees you get a championship in sports as Lindros never won the Cup. But the 90’s were a great time for the Flyers as they were more relevant than the Phillies and right up there with the Eagles and Iverson. That’s how big Lindros was.

  3. Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle… Ogie Ogilthorpe!
