i honestly think the leafs are gonna lose out on a lot of views next year. no one cares for this team as much as they once did and no one wants to watch a regular season from them cause we know even if they go 82-0 they wont ever have a chance at the 2nd round let alone a stanley cup. biggest disgrace in sports and the biggest embarrassment without question

Leafs are built for the playoffs. It was a good bounce and good play for bruins to help them through. They forced game 7. Their players weren’t healthy. They have no offence from defence compared to others teams is a weakness
I’m a die hard bruins fan, but overall I’m a hockey fan. I have felt bad for Leafs fans most of the time, but for some reason this year the biggest, angriest, and douche baggy-est Leaf fans came out in force and said the most terrible things to me when I said I was a B’s fan that I no longer feel bad at all, and I’m very very happy to see them choke again.

Tactically speaking, this Leafs team is a mess.
You have the core 4, yet decide to play a dump & chase/ heavy forecheck game. The rush chances were 48-27 BOS. That suits none of your top 6 other than Knies and maybe Bert.
On defense, Tree clearly wanted to get bigger/meaner. Problem is all his additions (Boosh, Edmundson and Benoit) do next to nothing with the puck other than treat it like a grenade. Sure they block and throw hits, but Cup contenders always have D men that can move the puck/ add some offensive threat.
Add to that an anemic PP that didn't even try to change bc the coach is a fraud who is afraid of his stars + getting goalie'd and this is why the Leafs are out.
Everyone blaming Marner for that OT goal but Rielly and Steeves weren’t skating either. Just inadequate communication and effort. Basics!

If by some very slim chance that Toronto actually ended their decades long abusive relationship with Boston, they would've just gone off to be in an even more abusive relationship.

16 teams didn’t even make the playoffs. Toronto did coming back from a 3/1 deficit without Matthews in game 5/6. Still the Toronto “fans” whine. Such fair weather fans. Support the team but only if they’re winning.
Sammy is going to have nightmares for years to come for not putting a damn stick on that puck in the OT winner. Just puck watched until it was too late. He was nervous as hell all night as well. How many times did the dude lose his stick or completely miss trapping the puck? He isn't solely to blame though… that D was completely 😴.
Matthews likely is an elite playoff winger. Matthews is a playoff nobody at centre.

what we're witnessing is pretty remarkable- remarkable athletes having to basically learn a new sport in the highest pressure possible. They did amazingly well, given the circumstances. if they had ANY leadership in the front office whatsoever, they would be a good team.
