What Happens With Ilya Konovalov For 24/25 Season Do He Play For The KHL Or The NHL
We’ll probably be seeing him in a few years. I think he’s taking the Kaprizov route where he was drafted by Minnesota in 2015, but decided to play in Russia until 2020. We shall see I suppose.
Too much drama over here Buchelnikov just wants to have fun and dominate the KHL Before projecting in NA just like his fellow countryman Kaprizov if Yzerman respect his view that could benefit tremendously to the Organization in the future I believe. Now, all the problematic is : Detroit will respect his choice in the development path or not I'm 100% confident That Yzerman is smart enough to respect kid's view because it sounds like a mature decision anyway
I had seen a video not long ago talking about the current relations between Russia and the US and that it had the potential to delay Russian players drafted to the NHL from making it here to play. In addition, the teams have to have a friendly relationship. I'm thinking of the Matvei Michkov situation with the Flyers where Michkov still has 2 years left on his KHL contract, but they are working on getting him there sooner. To do so would require he go straight to the NHL roster. I don't think this is a situation Yzerman and the Red Wings organization would be willing to consider at this stage in Buchelnikov's development. I think everyone is looking to see if he can maintain that productive consistency at those higher levels of competition before they secure a roster spot for him in Detroit. I believe we will see in in a couple years where he will play at least one in the AHL, and for the same reason as above.
