Who’s Our Preference for the Avalanche 2nd Round Opponent? Makar With Another Norris Nomination

The Colorado Avalanche are in wait and see mode at the moment, waiting for the Dallas Stars or Vegas Golden Knights to be their next opponent. The fan base seems to be divided on who they would prefer for the Avs to play. We discuss our thoughts.

Cale Makar was nominated again for the Norris Trophy as the leagues best defensemen. We don’t think he’ll be able to beat our Quinn Hughes for the award this year, and we discuss why.

While we all wait our next opponent, enjoy our latest episode! Tune in, subscribe and enjoy!

  1. Vegas gives us home ice. Dallas has home ice. We're the best in the league at home. Both Vegas and Dallas have knocked us out before. Vegas is defending but I think Dallas is better. I want to see my team run through the better team without home ice and make an even more strong statement than smoking Bucky

  2. I don't get the point of taking a shot at Hellebuyck. We all saw what happened in the first round, and there's no reason to be a poor winner.

As for who I'd rather see us face… I'd rather Vegas just because I'd like to see the Avs knock them out, but neither team will be an easy series. On that note, I don't think you can really say playing the teams with worse records would diminish anything. You say playing Nashville wouldn't mean as much, but to play them that would mean that they took out Vancouver and Edmonton to get there and 100% deserve to be where they are at. Did it diminish the cup two years ago when we completely outclassed Edmonton and swept them? Nonsense take.

  3. I feel Dallas would be the team to play , they out played the in reg season . They struggle against Vegas , having said that the AVS look like a team that can beat anyone😈 providing u know who stays hot . BYW love that Hat Kyle !

  4. I care less about “who” the Avs play and more about “how” they play. If they keep up that round one pace, I like their chances against anyone. I mean, both Dal and VGK are both experienced playoff teams and tough outs and having a preference feels like a setup. A team ready to win the cup respects every opponent but fears nobody. I’d suspect the staff is game planning for both teams now with the extra time off and will be ready for either and will be all about execution.

  5. I’d much rather play Vegas. #1 I just think the stars are a much better team than Vegas (I don’t care what our record was vs Dallas in the regular season, the Winnipeg series just proved why that doesn’t matter) #2 for all the understandable fuss about mark stone, he has 2 goals and is a minus 3 and looks like he’s playing hurt and overall I don’t think Vegas has the forward depth to compete with the Avs like the stars do, #3 I want revenge for blowing a 2-0 series lead in 2021 and knocking Vegas out would make me giddy

  6. All you need to do is look at the players poll when it comes to who is the best defenseman. Two years in a row, it's a landslide for Makar. What your peers think is the most important consideration.

  7. The NHL exists to provide the Avalanche with 31 other teams to beat.
Each fan of each team should think of their own team the same way.
    Bring on whomever. NEXT!
    "Are you not entertained?"
    Yes, coach, WE ARE.

  8. Vegas – home ice advantage! Dallas will be very, very, very difficult! I like Matt Duchene, at least one open born-again Christian!

  9. For me, i just want to see vegas lose. Dont care who. Dallas on the other hand, i would like to see the avalanche beat them. All the talk this year has been about how great dallas is, and how shallow colorado is, so would be great to start the golf season for the stars. If the avs play like they did vs the jets it doesnt matter who they play

  10. It's Dallas 1000%. Vegas can choke on it with their cap circumvention tactics. They deserve to get served up at home tonight and not go another step further in the playoffs this year. Matter of fact, I hope they go up 3 goals early and then slowly choke it away the rest of the game so it's extra painful. We can hate Dallas as a rival, but at least they're on the up and up and not trying to loophole their way to a championship. We wanted Seattle last year and that didn't pan out so well, so forget preference. It's all about fair play going forward for me.

  11. Let’s not forget how Colorado matched up against the Jets during the regular season, look how that series played out. I’m feeling confident against either. Hell give us both! 🤣

  12. if the stars and vegas go 7, then game 7 would be sunday and 2nd round starts monday lol so tuesday for us ,so whoever we get they get one day rest and if its vegas then they are flying to colorado and into the altitude
