Ah yes let’s just ignore Makar and Duncan Keith. Both guys under 6 foot who lead every special team their teams had and did it well enough to win a Conn Smythe. People always point size out as a knock on great players, but plenty of smaller players have lit up the league and won big. We are in an era of speed, and Quinn Hughes is definitely fast and slippery.
No d-man in the league getting crazy pressure like that is going to handle it perfectly. Overall, he has looked pretty good all things considered and has still made big plays. I have fond memories of Kimmo Timmonen proving a smaller guy can be an extremely effective NHL defenseman.
Also, to be fair – if you aren't getting bullied during playoff hockey, you ain't doing it right

So many Hughes haters here that dont even watch Canucks games 😂 Hughes has been great all series, barely ever makes defensive mistakes and doesnt shy away from anything. Its easy to look like the best defenseman in the world when you have Nathan Makinon up front, the scoring depth and experience that Colorado has. Makar isn't even the 2nd best player on the team right now 😂

I highly disagree. Vancouver is playing a game their top defenseman cannot play up to. He’s clearly taken a beating that he would not need to if they did not play such a physical brand of hockey.
