What’s the minimum he has to play to get his name on the cup? Just trying to make sense of this.

  2. new_nimmerzz

Heard he’s still favoring the right leg after skates? Anyone see him doing tight circles yet?

Still think just keep him out, train all summer, training camp and start next season. Build it back slow and steady

He won’t play this postseason, don’t get your hopes up. But I am starting to get slightly encouraged he will play again at some point.

I hope he’s good to go for the beginning of next season.

No way he sees the ice until then…

How long do we wait? I love the guy, but every week with a photo of him skating alone. If he hangs them up, which would be unfortunate, that would mean the Avs could then use money/leverage to fill
    His spot, no?

They can petition to get him on the cup regardless.

As he was performing captain duties in the locker room sometimes, it might actually work. Dunno.

  7. At some point Bednar said he won’t speak on Gabe until he’s sure, he’s said it won’t be prior to May 10th.

There will be rumors and videos of Gabe skating, I’m not getting hopes up until I hear from coach.

It’s good to see him on skates at all, but these are still the backwards c-cuts kids work on in their first skating classes. He’s probably a long, long way off from playing hockey at speed.

Absolutely love and root for Gabe every step of the way, though. Even if he never plays pro hockey again, he’s a legend.

Honestly, if he never plays again im ok with that. I just want him to be able to live an able life.

    Looking sharp with good progress.

No conjecture because nobody knows how far he can actually progress.

    Cheering for him as always

  11. I don’t want to see the avalanche rush it just to get him back for the playoff. Give him the extra 5 months and get him ready for next year.

  12. With all due respect, I sincerely hope that I don’t have to see any posts about this either until he steps onto the ice on an NHL game or announces his retirement. There’s a post every day about this and it’s been 2 years…

I’m gonna give against most ppl on this post… i think if the Avs make it into the western conference finals.. you’ll see him. Not much, not in the 2nd or even 3rd line but I think a 4th line with 5-7mins. Gabe is mentally strong im sure he’s doing extra at night skating to get on the ice. I think we see him if the Avs go far enough.

He’s playing in the cup final in limited minutes
