Allowing 28 goals, 24 of them other than empty-netters (and at least 5 [4 excluding empty-netters] per game) over 5 games I think what's the biggest reason the Jets lost their 2024 playoff series.
Only the Jets maintained loyalty to a terrible goalie. They kept him in on name only. Sometimes a team just has your number. Brossoit wins this game.

Taffoli scores and he went to the bench and nobody even talks to him. What kind of chemistry is going on there? As an Avs fan I saw that and was like these guys are either tense or just not communicating well. Maybe Tyler is just quiet….idk…weird to me
Avs did not become the team they are now because Sakic gave up the reigns. They won because of the trade moves and drafting done by Sakic. They elevated Chris Macfarland to GM because he would have left the org to be a GM elsewhere. Sakics hockey sense and Cmacs analytics are why they pick up players who fit exactly how Bednars Avs want to play, with speed and skill.

Jets offense played well but their defense and goaltending got absolutely cooked. Defense allowed way too many scoring chances which also means worse goaltending.

I didn't like that Bowness said he was proud of his guys for yesterday's game and that it was probably the best playoff game they played in 2 years. What??? Soooooooo, they play a semi-good game, STILL LOSE, and are OUT IN 5. That's a blowout. What's there to be proud of? We finished 4th in the league? WHY is getting blown out in the first round a "proud moment"???? This is worse than last year's blowout. There is NO reason here to be proud of anything. The Jets didn't even make it close. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Big changes needed. That back end has to be totally revamped and certain guys NEED to go.
I like Bowness, but he got badly outcoached and the pk killed us…….AGAIN. He has to go as well.
I've always been a huge Hellebuyck fan, but he proved once again that he is NOT a playoff goalie. He was very average at best…..AGAIN. I don't know how we rectify that unless we keep LB and trade Hellebuyck for some D-help. I believe the Jets will stick with him and die alongside him. It's what this team does.
