  1. I can absolutely agree with your final point on giving Eklund an A for the season.

Let’s not mince words, this team is absolute dog water. If he had a better team around him to work with, a team with even a Fraction of the talent of the lines Hertl or Timo had when they came up, he’d already be making a name for himself in the league.

I just hope we can get something around him. Hopefully better D to shore up the back end, and maybe some more solid veteran forward presence to help guide him and set him up for the future.

Like can you imagine if Cooch was healthy this year how much that would have probably helped him with his development?

The Delusional side of me is kind of hoping that if Dallas wins the cup this year, Pavs doesn’t re-sign and comes back home to us for a final hurrah before hanging up the skates. God now that would be some damn good veteran help for the kids. But it’s about as likely as this team making a playoff run.

  2. Personally I think the best comp is 21 year old Patty. The 2000 team was much better than 2024 but I think Patty and Eklund played similar roles on those teams. Slippery Pete probably has 55+ points this year if linemates finished his chances at a normal rate. But I think with a more talent roster and his development, Slippery Pete could get to that 60-65 point mark and show that he really was a steal at #7 in the draft(I thought he’d go 3rd)
