Team will never get better unless ek leaves should I bring up the garbage he's done?
All I hear are crickets. Right now, looks like status quo to me. We'll see "IF" Dubas has what it takes or not this summer! The jury is definitely still out.
Joseph isn’t a top d man. Would b a mistake to give him that rule.
The difficulty in trading Graves might be equivalent to trading Ruuta, Grandlund and most of Petry’s Cap for EK
Honestly think that Ryan Graves has to be the so-called "Offensive defenseman" of a pairing, and St. Ivany would allow him to be that versus playing with Letang or Karlsson and having to assume the "Defensive defenseman" role. Simple role reversal might pay dividends for him being able to have more freedom to his game.
The coaching staff needs to change, and they need at least one solid defensive defenseman.
My opinion is that the Pens just arent physical enough to play good D pretty much across the board, and that includes players like the Dragon who just isnt strong enough and who isnt fast enough to avoid being taken out of plays. I think he is very overrated. That is why when they get into the playoffs <when they do> they cant get past the 1st round because the playoffs feature lots more hitting and agression..The Pens just want to make pretty plays..this has been a problem for a very long time now
the Penguins worst defenseman is Mike Sullivan
I think we need to give Graves the benefit of the doubt and give him the summer to figure things out mentally, it would be hard to play as bad as he did the year, I think he could benefit by playing with a defensive minded partner. They need to allow him to be what he is, a big body puck moving defenseman, the only ugly thing about that is paying 4.5m for 12 minutes of ice team, but if it wins games and works it works
Don’t forget how bad Marcus Patterson was his first few seasons, he’s great now but he sucked for a long time until 22-23, Joesph could be in a similar boat, defenseman take longer to develop, he has his moments good and bad, I think he needs to work on his lower body strength and build confidence under a new assistant coaching staff
St Ivany helps any pairing but he may have way more game than the narrow role he is likely to get. Don’t waste his youth.
