I remember seeing Vinny play his first shift. I had a feeling he was going to work out, a stay at home defenceman who takes pride in his role. His shutdown ability and his penalty kill is top tier. You can also tell he's great in the dressing room the teammates love him. He's what our team needed and stolked to have him sign again. Guess I need to buy a Desharnais jersey lol

Nail bitter last night. The boys showed that they can hold that lead. I am so happy for Vinny and how his season has gone this year. He has really elevated his play and shows a lot of confidence out there.

Desharnais can develop into a top 2 shutdown defenceman. He was first pair PK and trusted for the final minute with 1 goal lead.
So proud of how well he’s developed and played this entire year so far. I think he would push for the 7 years just because of the security. He’s busted his ass for so long and never thought he would make it. If we can agree at 3 million I think that’s a fair deal. I am so hoping we don’t sign Bouchard to anything higher than 5.5 million. Yes he gets a lot of points but he can’t do his job in our zone. He’s scared to get hit and gives the puck up way too much because of it.
Big term with lower AAV is good for both sides… Guaranteed income for the big man and possibly some extra cap to work with for McDrai.
An affordable long term deal would be good. We have big money deals coming up with Connor and Leon.
