Was talking about what current players could end up in the hall of fame with some buddies and Marchand came up. Given his accomplishments, and also his on ice reputation, do you think Brand Marchand will be a hall of famer?

He owns Toronto and the hockey hall of fame is in Toronto so yes.
Most definitely. The guy is a team captain, cup winner, and has the franchise record for career playoff goals (56, in the top 50 in NHL history) and shorties (#8 in NHL history). Not to mention the reputation.

If Daniel Alfredson is a hall of famer, Brad Marchand is most certainly on a path to being a Hall of Famer. He leads all active players in +/-.

If Cam Neely is in, Marchand is in. Marchand already had 300 more games, 235 more points and 1 more Stanley Cup than Neely.
Also Cujo should be in the HOF.
I can see the Marchand installation now, a giant tongue grazes your face as you enter “The Marchand Experience” then you’re constantly bumped and ripped by randos wearing Boston jerseys.

I’m clearly blinded by my dislike for the guy based on everyone here saying “yes, absolutely.” So, trying my best to be objective:
One cup. One gold medal. No individual awards. His two best seasons were 100 points and 87 points. Maybe I’m out of touch with what it takes to be in the HOF, but I feel like there are dozens of players with better stats and accolades who aren’t hall of famers.
Intangibles: the way he was universally hated was unmatched in his generation. Brought unique skills to the table like licking, biting, slew footing
All that being said, I know I’m probably wrong as I write this. I guess this is just a nice glimpse into how much bias affects my judgement.

I hate Marchand as a player and even though he is a chill dude in real life, I still can’t respect him.
Also, he should absolutely be in the Hall of Fame.

I am a Leafs fan and in my mind Brad Marchand is a highly underrated player that should 100% be in the hall of fame. I can’t think of many other players that can change the direction of a game as soon as they step on the ice like Marchand can. I never was a fan of the sleazy things he did and I think that takes away peoples opinion overall but he is definitely a great hockey player. Hopefully not great tonight though…
