First off, we lost 2 veteran defensemen when me and a friend thought it would be severson or graves but not both. Then while Hamilton started off with some goals, he was forcing the pinch too often at the point giving up too many breakaways or odd man rushes. Then he got hurt and we’re down 3 veteran defensemen. Luke shows promise, but there’s many times he should have been benched. He tries to get too fancy in his rookie year. When it works it’s amazing, when it fails wtf is he doing. Eventually Nemec gets the call up, i don’t think that was directly from Hamilton going down, but Hamilton was down and someone like Smith got hurt. Nemec, a 19 year old rookie offensive defenseman. Was the most responsible defenseman we had on the team. And that’s what pisses me off about luke. Luke and simon are both offensive defensemen. But simon showed his maturity at a younger age and put defense first while Luke still pushed the offense. I still think luke will be the best of the hughes brothers but he needs to grow up.
After all of that I blame Lindy and the coaching / medical staff for a bunch of the injuries. This team was not conditioned to be an NHL team. Yes they had the most amount of back to back games than any other team. We are also one of the youngest teams. You’re telling me these young men don’t have legs to play back to back games???? Been giving up the first goal for at least 3 years now? You’re telling me poor conditioning not being ready for games doesn’t cause injuries??? I’ve had many people tell me that and they are all wrong.
