Nikita Kucherov hit Aaron Ekblad as he was waiting for the puck to drop down out of the air. Seems like interference to me more so than a 50/50 battle.
You could call it a cross check, but it's also a case of knowing who's on the ice and kucherov is about the sneakiest dirty player in the league. He also gets a pass on a lot of stuff because he is so good there you go
Interference or a cross check ,2 minutes. Its the playoffs and that was aggressive playoff hockey. As a player myself who’s played my whole life I know when you throw a hit like that you aren’t thinking “lets injure the guy” but your definitely throwing it to kick some ass.. if that makes sense.

It's the playoffs and the cheap shot artists have clear sailing, but you also have to keep your head up
Kucherov is playing so poorly these playoffs I am glad they didn't call that, he's more of a liability on the ice than in the bin.
