  1. If it's not a concussion a migraine issue can be related to heart issues,
Hope for the best great player too bad he's hurting migraines suck.

  2. Man, my ex wife used to give me really bad migraines. ….Then I got a new girlfriend. Maybe try that Willie?

  3. As bad as we all want to win, the health and well-being of Willy has to priority 1. Good luck on Saturday, Maple Leafs. Your fans believe in your ability with or without your sniper. 🪕

  4. I hope the doctors have done MRIs and tested for brain disorders, cancers, and autoimmune diseases. I'm sure they have done those things being top of the line medical staff. But migraines that severe are not usually for no reason. Let's hope it's not a debilitating disease.

  5. People who don’t get migraines think it’s just a headache turned up to 11, but it’s so much worse. All your senses are attacking you, sounds hurt, tastes hurt, movement hurts, light hurts, and you are almost constantly nauseous…imagine throwing up when your head already feels like it’s splitting open. Your vision can often be affected, things blur or get like auras around them, your senses get hyper inflated so a relatively minor smell is suddenly overpowering, it’s just gross.

Go to migraine related websites, you’ll see people who have faced both saying that they would go through childbirth or a broken bone again over a migraine. All you want is to lie down in a cool dark quiet space…and they can last for days, especially including all the phases. Many people who have had a really bad headache think they have had a migraine, and it’s possible they had a very, very mild one, but odds are if it was just the symptoms of a headache but much worse it was not a migraine. If Advil worked, it almost certainly wasn’t a migraine, Advil doesn’t really address the root issue. I take preventative meds and there is tripto…something, a drug, that can work sometimes but it’s often ineffective and, worse, the more you use it the less effective it becomes.

My biggest hope atm is that my kids won’t inherit this from me, it can seriously fuck up your life with ~ regularity. Otoh my dad says his just went away around age 50, so there’s hope. Otherwise there’s not much you can do, aside from become educated about your triggers, but for me barometric activity and lack of sleep are the biggest triggers and obviously you only have so much control over those. Oh, I also avoid caffeine at all times.

  6. Best wishes to your recovery Willy. Its true we need you right now, but more importantly, we need you healthy.

LETS GO BUDS… we need the home arena crowd to be more supportive. The players feed off our energy, so if we are nervous thats the vibe we send them.

Positive vibes we are the better team we just need to feel it and play like we can.

  7. Leafs fans want this guy back obviously. But as physical as this series is he'll have a full blown concussion after 10 minutes playing the B's . Willie , some free advice . Don't fuck with your head , no 2nd chances with your head bud . Nothings worth that .

  8. I’ve slept for 3 days with a migraine. It’s gnarly, lost out of my birthday party and concerts my buddy was throwing for me. I didn’t show for 3 days and couldn’t call or talk to anyone. Light… noise.. anything except for the back of my eyes lids and ice packs on my head were out to get me.

  9. Go back either 81st game or last game of the season, Nylander got hit hard. I am trying to remember, but I remember the hit.

  10. duanedietz…. 100%..just like me. I got a vasectomy last week ( I'm not telling anybody)…. WHY?… because I went in for an ear infection.

  11. I just ask that the Leafs show some compassion for their fans and get it over with. Please no game 7 loss in Boston. End the suffering on Monday night. We can take it. We have been stood up at the Altar so many times, Uber is on speed dial to take us home.

  12. You can get an intravenous drip that would eliminate the pain completely. I used to get severe migraines and I got treated for it and was feeling great about 4 hours after that.

  13. Migraines are hell.
I've been pretty clear for a while, but often they come in clusters.
You feel like you're recovering from one attack and then you get another one.
Worst bout that I've had lasted about a week and then another week to feel 100%.

  14. My guess is the real issue is undiagnosed concussion that flew under the radar until team doctors picked up on it. I'm probably wrong.

  15. Imo, if you’re at a point where you can get out there and practice and joke around, then you should be playing. This is the playoffs!

  16. Question is who let Nylander play in the last 2 meaningless games of the season Nylander was rocked and concussed in the Florida game 81. Another question where were the concussed spotters at the Florida game. Heads need to roll.

  17. It’s because all the Toronto media are fucking headaches! I get one after every leaf game…. And jays for that matter

  18. Had a 10 speed bike accident at 28 yrs old ,chain and lock was wrapped around the handle bars. While I was racing to get somewhere the chain slackened into my front tire seizing the bike and went head first into the cement. I layed in St Mikes hospital neurology ward for 6 months with serious migraines bad enough I had to be put out with lots of Tylenol 3s. These migraines from pressure of a swollen brain lasted for 2 yrs. I had lost the complete ability to even think or answer questions for the first year. Not too mention all the other injuries to my neck and chest. The healing process for anyone who suffers from concussions can vary from person to person and hockey players suffer little ones all the time even from just shoulder to shoulder contact. When someone feels these migraines a lot ,death almost feels welcome. Here’s the real odd thing for me, after the migraines subsided I’ve never suffered another one since and I’m 65 now. Luck of the draw.
