How concerning has Skinner’s start to playoffs been? | Jay On SC

Oilers netminder Stuart Skinner has allowed nine goals in two games against the Kings so far in the playoffs. How concerning has his start been? TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron joins SC with Jay Onrait to share his thoughts on the Oilers’ overtime loss to the Kings in Game 2 of their series.

  1. Im very concerned, maybe an overreaction, but a vast majority of the play-off teams have elite goalies and the Oilers do not. Noticeable to me, his side to side movement is way too slow, and thats comparing him to Mike Smith. Again comparing to Smith but Smith looked more fluid and loose, Skinner looks tense and almost robotic where all his motion is stiff/linear.

  2. OT loss? Thank YOU $9 million Nurse🤑 and "a HOLE in the net" Skinner with 3 goals after 7 shot 😝

    Skinner is not mediocre goalie ) He is BAD😝 with SV = .808 % 4 goals + 5 goals = 9 goals after 2 games

Thanks to McGreat and Hyman Oilers were lucky to score 7 in last game) but not this time🤣😂🤣

  3. I am oilers fan!! Forever!! But skinner is cooked which I have been saying since last playoffs.. simple not capable to do it in the postseason..

  4. Sadly that's the true oilers. Since the winning streak ended it's been good game, bad game, good game, bad game with no consistency. In my opinion the coach is to soft. Should have addressed this inconsistency long ago. He keep making excuses for them when they would lose to shit teams like Anaheim. The true team showed up against Vancouver when they had first place gifted to them with a win. But they shit the bed.

  5. Pickard is solid Skinner needs to sit out for awhile he let's in wayyy to many easy goals through the five hole

  6. Skinner is no good, Oilers should have one this one easy but with Skinner allowing weak goals and keeping his team to play catch up all the time isn't good. If Skinner starts game 3, Oilers aren't going far

  7. Stu is an okay regular season goalie. He doesn't seem to be able to handle the pressure of the playoffs.

  8. Hahaha. These guys are oblivious. Talbot allowed so many bad goals last night. Holloways goals should both have been stopped. They were both shots from the outside home plate area. Kulaks goal was no screen from a distance. Kings should start Rittich game 3. Talbot looks so uncomfortable. I don’t know what the Oilers do here with skinner. Both of these goalies are terrible right now.

  9. I was admonished for my doubts in Skinner by an Oilers fan here about 10 days ago, and told that Skinner "has been more consistent recently".
    Seriously.

  10. Oilers fan here they always have a problem with man to man coverage. The kings now know they got the room to take shots or pass.

  11. I knew Holland would turn his head on the goaltending, again.. 4 pulls in the playoffs and still he ignores it. They need to start Pickard or literally anybody else or it is over

  12. Broo I literally met skinner and even played one game with him with the lethbridge hurricanes he's a gr8 guy, but he just doesn't have the it factor he always struggles in the postseason

  13. I think oilers fans forget if it wasn’t for the play of Skinner and going on that insane 16 game win streak, we wouldn’t be in the playoffs. He’s a good solid goalie, he’ll be better next game.

  14. I’d be more concerned that Bouchard is absolutely hot garbage on defense and never get punished for his shit mistakes in his own end !!

  15. Skinner looked Shakey and I blame the coach for not pulling him and put in Pickard. Skinner once again is going to blow this just like last year and why I say that is because the boys worked so hard to come back and he lets in shit goals that should be made. On that note Go Oil Go!

  16. Skinner has great positioning can really only stop picks that hit him if they pick the spot no save of theres a shot from an unexpecting area no save
