Most fans are commenting that “it’s same old white coaches who get recycled”…Buffalo hired 3 rookie coaches recently dah!
Lindy had issues in NJ. Yes, a lot of injuries, weak goalies. Fans had issues with ice time (Timo not on PP1, LW instead of RW, overplaying certain goalies), feuding with media, benching Holtz, poor defensive play, etc. When you're winning, fans ignore it. When you're losing, that's ALL on the coach. The same will happen in Buffalo – Ruff has to win (winning solves all problems) or it will get ugly, again. To be fair, even more heat was thrown at the GM.
Ruff talked about the importance of net front presence and the need for dirty goals… tip-ins and rebounds and such. Maybe he can turn Thompson into Esposito (the dirty goal king), instead of trying to turn him into Perreault (the dipsey-doodle king). "Espo" scored 76 goals one year and I swear they were all tip-ins, lol.
The one negative thing I will say about Ruff. He used to call players out in the media and that, never, ever, goes over well in the locker room. Hopefully, he's evolved from that negativity.
Wayne, it is a bit of a bummer that you had to make this video but I'm glad you did! I don't fully understand the hate myself, but luckily out of the people I personally know most of them are on the "heck yeah!" Or "wait and see" train opposed to the "miserable hate train". I have a sneaking suspicion that most of the hate is coming from a place of pessimism as to not get excited. If you don't get excited you can't get let down, which essentially puts those people in with the "wait and see" crowd except they wont admit it and use the hate as a guard. Anyways I'm excited and can't wait for Lindy to get to work with the boys!!
As always thank you Wayne for always putting out great videos and really pouring your energy and heart into them, I appreciate it! As far as hockey and Sabres content goes I think you make the best videos and have the best community, cheers brother!

I think people are scared of more failure. Lindy has a team with great talent and potential. Lets see what happens. We all hope for the best.
Love that man. Loved him as a player. He fought all the heavy weights in the aud. Didnt win them all, but most of them he did win. Did not matter, it was for this team. He loves buffalo. He wore the C on his jersey. I was at a game he scored 4 goals. 4 goals is a career for some. He Played under roger nelson, scotty bowman. He translated those playing years into the 4th all time wins as a coach. He is a winner. He will bring the winning tradition back. Wake up 😮
At the introduction pressor, he said part of his new style is to sometimes not go into the locker room between periods.thats preety scarry. Growing up when i screwed up and dear ol dad said nothing to me ot made me think harder. Get these kids in step. Lindy is the guy.
We have to stop all the negativity. Negativity just breeds more negativity. Time to become a more positive fanbase toward the team. Being negative really accomplishes nothing, other than getting mocked by other fanbases…
Also some of our fans Wayne don’t realize we only missed by 7 points and we had a soft team people dont think Lindy can get 4 lines rolling and have a 15 point improvement he had a 45 point improvement in jersey I’m just saying right now if we finished next year with 105 pts and won 7 playoff games next year I wouldn’t be surprised
Social media creates a platform potentially for everyone. I'm all for free speech, but it's also important to discern good opinions from the bad ones. Ignore the doomers, and the team needs to do their best to stay away from these social media platforms. Heck, don't even listen to me. I'm not qualified to run a professional sports organization in any capacity. Listening to negativity will only result in extending the drought more. Misery loves like company. While I did agree that a change in coach was necessary, hearing "fire the coach", "fire the GM", and "sell the team" (from the Sabres twitter) at some point gets tiresome for anybody who isn't a doomer. Some people want complete scorched earth with a rebuild, who don't understand that we have tried that before and it has failed. It only takes room temperature IQ at best to come up with a scorched earth suggestion. If it was easy, it would have been figured out years ago. Lindy is pretty old, but he has a lot of experience under his belt, and maybe he can help with a better transition process, and perhaps help groom the next head coach after him. The plan is for both now and the future.
I don't hate Lindy Ruff in the least but this is also a huge PR move to try and repair Terry Pegulas tarnished reputation and this will bring people back in the seats. There were head coaches available who had Stanley Cup experience in Gerard Gallant, Craig Berube and like you said if reinstated Joel Quenville. I hope it all works out but he just came from a situation in New Jersey where it didn't work out for reasons we just got rid of Granato. There are many Youtubers like yourself from New Jersey who say he didn't hold the Devils players accountable.
I cannot wait to see his offseason moves. I want to see his coaching staff names as well. Ask every single player that is watching the payoffs if they can play with that level of physicality.. If THEY CANNOT .. THEY MUST GO
Im conflicted. Lindy doesn’t push for grit and hard hitting. His last stint here I watched our goalie get bowled over and no one did a a thing. 13 years without playoffs. I live in Buffalo. It’s in our face 24/7.
I am fine with Lindy. Only thing is I would have liked to see a hire from outside the organization, a new face this time around. But I think Lindy will do beautifully

This team will no longer be pushed around. Now our GM needs to add some veterans who play with an edge. Guys like Pat Maroon.

My issues with Lindy coming back are perception. It feels like a nostalgia grab. My fear is it's going to be a "get the band back together" type of thing to sell tickets and get butts in seats. I don't expect that, but I fear that. This organization hasnt had good success with returns. I like Lindy. He checks every box. I just would've preferred something new
I think the argument against Lindy is that we've already been there and didnt get it done and it's time for another chapter with a new younger coach

The people complaining about Lindy being hired are the same kind of people that bitch and cry about the Bills and let a football team ruin their lives. Any fans like that are just sad, pathetic, miserable, room temperature IQ, and low life human beings. They only live to hate and complain. They can never be satisfied.
