I’ve been critical of Georgie these last few weeks. But last night proved he can drown out the noise and keep his head where it needs to be. If he keeps this up, big things are coming for us this year!

There would be less noise if we all just supported the team unconditionally. We are in this fight with the group we got, all we can do is support them

He definitely needed a bounce back game, both for his own confidence and for the team to be able to trust that he’s going to be able to get them those wins.

I’ll admit I was way too hypercritical of Georgiev after game 1 after the frustrations of the late regular season. I’m very happy for him and the team after last night. I hope he can keep it up!

Two things give me hope:
1. Georgie credited his performance to the support from his teammates after last game. That tells me the team believes he can bounce back and rallied behind him.
2. We haven’t really seen him bounce back like this yet. After the TDL he responded to adversity with even worse performances, outside of the Rags games. He hasn’t given us a redemption performance in over a month. Then he picks the absolute perfect time to do so.
Keep stringing these together and this team goes DEEEEEEEEEP.

I was super worried after that first goal, and the crowd was messing with him. I thought he was going to lose the focus. But instead, he stood on his head on that PK that came next, and I think he settled in. Once that happened, it felt like each save his confidence came back. He was cutting down angles more aggressively. IDK, I was surprised by the way the game went after the first goal but I am really happy, hope the fans in Denver give him some props for shaking it off and working his way through the negativity and crowd in Winnipeg.

It also helps when his elite Dmen play elite and not give up the puck right in front of him. It’s kinda weird when the defense play great their goalie puts together a gem. So many ppl in this sub put the entire blame on Georgie it was crazy. He was definitely part of the problem but the Avs D were playing like a bottom 5 D in front of him.

I too have been a dingleberry. As a fantasy footballer, I get in the weeds with stats, percentages, and all that jazz. Being 0-4 with an ugly GAA vs your opponent is an abysmal tide.
Maybe it was exhaustion, maybe it was Tim Horton’s being the only option, or maybe he needed to get lit the fuck up knowing we need him to make some saves but he played on his head last night.
Yuuuge saves, especially when he was 1:1 and shut the door.
