On April 23, 2001, the Kings eliminated the Detroit Red Wings in Game 6 at STAPLES Center. Adam Deadmarsh scored the series clinching goal in a 3-2 overtime win, and advanced the Kings to the semifinals where they would face Rob Blake and the Colorado Avalanche.

I was in the back row of 303
Somehow Bob’s rambling about what day the next series is going to start makes this clip so much better. He’s so overwhelmed that he just can’t stop himself
I bought a single ticket to Game 6 right behind the net for $60 after Game 2. I figured if we managed to extend the series it would be a good game. I had NO IDEA I was about to see one of my favorite sporting events ever.
#GKG.
I was there in one of the suites. My mom’s job offered a few of them spots and she took me knowing how much of a fan I was. Best Kings game I ever went to
One of greatest playoff series wins ever, down 0-2 winning 4 straight. Unfortunately and ironically we ran into Rob Blake and of course Sakic, Forsberg and Roy to dash any hopes of our first Cup in a solid 7 game series. We got destroyed in Game 7, 5-1 and the Avs went on to win the Cup taking down Marty and the NJ Devils.
