CBJ have signed forward Luca Pinelli to a 3-year entry level contract beginning in 2024-25. The 2023 114th overall pick ranked 3rd in the OHL in goals and 5th in PPG (tied) and shots on goal in 2023-24 with 48-34-82, 15 PPG and 266 shots in 68 games with Ottawa.

What does a guy have to do to get a winger who is not a teenager and not under 6 feet tall?
Kinda surprised of all the negative comments here on the player. He was always considered to be a potential late round steal with his skills…even Graviteh had him last year as the potential steal of the draft even before the draft happened.
Really interesting that the scouting staff thinks they’ve found an arbitrage with small “draft steal” type high offense wingers. It will bear out over the next few years although all the numbers everyone’s quoting about how small a percentage of winning teams are under 6 ft is concerning… you gotta believe Jarmo/Ville/etc were smart enough to think about this though
