The Toronto Maple Leafs opened up their 2023/24 Stanley Cup Playoffs campaign with a horrific performance against the Boston Bruins. Nothing went right for the Maple Leafs in the opener as Boston controlled the game throughout. The Leafs were missing William Nylander, but the overall effort was lacklustre.

Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, AND John Tavares all failed to get on the scoresheet. The only Leafs goal was scored by David Kampf, assisted by Connor Dewar and Ryan Reaves. Ilya Samsonov made 19 of 23 saves for an .826 save percentage on the night.
