  1. It's inspiring to see how passionate everyone is about this topic. It's a reminder of the importance of intellectual curiosity.🐱

  2. Realistically….my dudes are losing 4-1 considering how lopsided things are….

that being said, the level of smugness I would have if the Caps found a way back to the 2nd round of the playoffs would be astronomically high.

  3. I just love hearing Steve talk about the Rangers – one of a small handful of guys who are life-time teamers for someone else who always gives any other team a fair read. Rangers in 5 all the way to the Cup.

  4. I don't often agree with Jesse but I do here. Rangers in 4. I just don't believe the Rangers are fat and happy they know their Season begins now. And they face a team that from a Talent Level I would compare to the 2017 Leafs team that made the Playoffs for the First time against the Capitals, but except for a Young Talent like Matthews, you have Ovechkin who is on the other End of his Career. Everything is set up for the Rangers to Win in 4.

  5. You're looking for a way the Caps keep it close, it's pretty simple: the Rangers struggle against teams with a reason to care more than them, and they end up having to win games with a 15 minute effort in the third. We absolutely have the skill to do it against a lot of teams in the regular season and I'm pretty sure we led the league in comeback wins this year… I think that's going to be harder to do in the playoffs. If Washington can get early leads and stay out of the box, they give Lindgren a good chance to steal 4.

I'm going Rangers in 5, because I'm banking on Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere overpowering the Caps.

  6. I didn't even want the Capitals to make the playoffs. I wanted to focus my laughter on the Atlantic division this postseason…. 😢

  7. I don't know what to make of caps, I certainly didn't think they earned their way in, mostly because of poor play from other teams, but you never know, hockeys a funny game, crazy bounces one way or another.

  8. Considering you guys all called leafs in 4 vs habs I’d say you have no ability in making realistic predictions

  9. Caps games are strange coin-flips, at least when Lindgren is in net. If they get the first goal, they lock it down and almost always win. If they give up the first goal then they're pretty bad. If they ever go down by multiple goals they often get completely blown out as they try to open up to score and it doesn't work.

  10. As a Caps fan I'm just happy we get to see the playoffs again and all our young guys get some experience. There's no way we're beating the Rangers but it'll still be fun to watch.

  11. How people quickly forget Stanley Cup History…

    Tampa vs Columbus 2019
    Florida vs Boston 2023
That one year Montreal beat both WSH and PIT who were way better (2010?)

    The list goes on.

Not saying WSH will win– But we shouldn't just discount them entirely. Stranger things have happened.

  12. I don’t think the Rangers are fat and happy. Watching them all year, hearing their opinions about clinching, the presidents trophy, etc, I get no sense (as a pessimistic Rangers fan) that they’re “happy.” They have a lot more to prove coming off of last year and internally.

  13. Forget all the numbers of where teams rank. The season series has been close and competitive games. Caps have zero pressure on them while the Rangers have 100% of it while playing at home in front of a crowd that could get impatient.

  14. In 4 games the two teams played against each other, Lindgren was in net for 3 of them(4-0 Caps win, 3-2 Caps win, and 2-1 Rangers win). The one bad loss, 5-1, Kuemper was in net. Bottom line Lindgren gave the Rangers fits, so I expect that to continue. All the Hershey players that are now on the Caps roster, don't overlook them. Why, because those guys won the AHL Calder Cup last season, so that has a lot of meaning taking on the NHL playoffs. Also, those Hershey players should have a big chip on their shoulders because Laviolette terribly undervalued how much those young guys had value to helping the team win games. Laviolette ran the team into the ground playing the vets too much, with many injuries ensued during the 2nd half of last season. Last the Caps have been playing playoff hockey for 2 months now, while the Rangers have been partial to cruising a bit. As a Caps fan, I have seen what happens when you are a dominant President's Trophy winner. All it takes is a hot goalie and some clutch scoring from a desperate team to upset a top team.
