What’s more likely: Bruins or Maple Leafs win Round 1 of Stanley Cup Playoffs?

Here we go again!

The Boston Bruins will host the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday, so we’re playing a round of “what’s more likely?” on today’s episode.

Locked on Boston Bruins host Ian McLaren argues Boston’s goaltending makes it more likely that the Bruins will win, then counters that by arguing Toronto’s “core 4” will be too much for the Bruins to handle, pushing the Maple Leafs to finally beat the black and gold.

Plus, a look at what Boston’s lineup will look like for Game 1.

  1. Leafs are so much more talented. Leafs will take it to us , its there time finally. The players on our team the Bruins , are so lazy and dont want to play hard at all game to game. Rather upsetting especially for professionals to take their game for granted and have all the fans pay big ass bucks to sit in a plastic seat and hope these bums come to play

  2. Toronto will sadly beat out Bruins. Boston just isn't showing enough scoring!
Even our awesome goalies won't be able to get us to the second round.
Toronto's scoring is crazy crazy good!

  3. This series might come down to who's got the better special teams. I'm hoping in this moment, it's Boston. The Bruins were in the Top 10 in penalty killing. Toronto had the number 7 ranked power play but scored only once against the B's in 11 chances. We know Boston's extra man advantage has been anything but that over the last while. In the final 20 games of the regular season, the Bruins scored just six times in 43 chances. They have to get that sorted for it to become any kind of a weapon. Toronto's penalty kill is the 24th best this year. (Had to get in that backhanded compliment.) Boston weren't so dry against these guys with three power play goals in their four match ups. Ullmark and Swayman are better goalies than Samsonov and Woll and I think it is on the Loaf guys to up their game for them to have a shot. These two aren't the backbone of their club the way Boston's guys are. Sometimes the stats mean shit. We've seen that. Just something to consider as a factor. The Bruins will play a rugged style. They have to. It's the playoffs. Probably something like that last regular season game between the Bruins and Toronto when they combined for 91 hits.
