Love Darryl but he wasn’t quite as candid as I’d like him to be. PLD absolutely needs to redeem himself for a sub par season and be the kind of player that equals his paycheck ! QB is fine and any young player needs to learn how to play more consistent. Kempe is the perfect comparison for that. I like it that Hiller is still mixing combinations and never scared to mix it up. I think this will serve us well in playoffs and I’m hoping very much Hiller is our head coach next year despite what happens in playoffs. I know many may disagree and say how Kings do in playoffs will determine his future. But he has done a wonderful job with the team Blake has assembled for him. He probably had little to no input on player transactions, trades and signings. Last, I hope Kaliyev gets some ice time in playoffs and has success. i think he could really turn things around if he gets some playing time.
No matter how many former Kings' heroes are interviewed, there's no way in hell it relates to the current tribe of players. Since the loss of Jonathon Quick, we still have Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar…and that's it. For the rest, perhaps they need to be hypnotized? Naw, suddenly I'm reminded of "The Natural". In that movie, it took one man…ONE MAN…to step up and lead. Where is that guy on the Kings? Note: Ownership has been extremely fair, and they have pleased most/older fans by keeping a number of players who retired after having a bit of glory with the team. Of course, there were also players who did not win anything, collected their money and moved on to better teams! Frankly, we-the fans in L.A.-don't get to sell out/move on/turn our backs on our city. This is our home!!! Anyway, too late to bring back Darryl Evans. And, I think we know which payer/s will be like t*** on a bull come playoff time. Suddenly my mind is focusing in on the CAP and the $100,000+ still being paid out to Mike Richards…which brings us to wastes of space/funds. Please come back, Carl Grundstrom! Go Eddie Go!
