In a chaotic night of NHL games, the Washington Capitals secured the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference on an empty net goal in Philadelphia that should never have happened, ending the seasons of the Penguins, Flyers and Red Wings.   1. Caps fan here. That was a painful watch last night. They were scrambly and discombobulated in their own zone and were lucky that lindgren played such a solid game. If that’s how they play in a must win against the flyers then they’re about to get spanked by the rangers.

  2. They didn’t take a goal off the board in Philly, it was waived off immediately. Yeah he shouldn’t have blew the whistle but it happens somewhat often, just not usually in floating up in the air while everyone thinks the goalie has it fashion. The review was the correct call legally.
