Alex Tuch expanded on his opinion that the Sabres “need” and are “ready for” a coach who pushes them.
“… our next coach will be one that holds us accountable and one that makes sure that we’re performing to our best or you’re not going to perform at all.”

Tuch echoing a lot of what the fans have been suggesting
They have the talent. Now they need to play like a team. They need to buy into everything, their forecheck, back check, support in each zone. They can’t win on talent alone.
It’s sad that players can’t hold themselves accountable but im typing this at my desk at work so what the hell do I know?
This seems like a pretty big 180 on the stance most players were taking on Granato just a few weeks ago. It seemed he had their full support. I definitely understand being behind the guy while he still has the job, but it’s reassuring to see that even some of the players recognized that Granato wasn’t getting it done.
Interesting. This is the 2nd time I’ve seen Tuch say something about the coaching staff. I don’t remember the other thing but think it was in a post game interview a few weeks ago.
Alex Tuch for captain!
W
I’m just gonna go ahead and say that if he truly thinks that, why does he need a coach that keeps them accountable as opposed to keeping each other accountable?
Are you 100% sure it’s not the fans?…
Better hope holding players accountable doesn’t leave him on the third line where he belongs.
Holy shit, it’s almost as if the team knew they could phone it in whenever they wanted and have zero consequences. It makes sense that someone like Tuch would notice this, coming from a serious system.
Make this man the coach!
Remember all the people who said Mitts comments were about the altitude…
First day as HC, Berube is gunna walk into the dressing room and kick Dylan Cozens in the chest to establish dominance
Wouldn’t it make sense to HOLD YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE…🤔 I feel like Tuch speaks for the fans and is really in line with what we are both wanting out of the team!
