  1. I feel so bad for larks, the boys needed to win out their last 3 games and they did but it didn't matter. Hopefully next year

  2. Wings fight to the end,
    Kane's shootout calm delivers
    — Caps capture wildcard💥☹️!

    Red Wings Haiku Hockey Time

  3. What happens when you completely shit the bed and play inconsistent hockey down the stretch… after having an 8 point cushion. Having too rely on other teams to get u into the post season. Lmaooo. Washington in the playoffs… jfc. Anyways.

She’s been fun. Glad it’s over.

Going to be another long off season.

  4. why does this feel like last year lions senario, honestly im glade made it past 90 points and ending it with a winning record, just like the detroit lions they fought to the very end rather making it, or just not making it, they will make alot of noise and they will show that they can be a playoff contender

  5. Fuck man. I can’t believe the stupid flyers had to lose. That Perron goal shook to my freaking core. It’s sad tho. 😢😢😢

  6. keep your heads up boys. youve proved that you have what it takes to make the post season, it stings now, but next year we have what it takes! we were in a drought but this is something to look on and build on, we will be stanley cup champs before long!

  7. Coaches should be ashamed, had they held it together in Larkins absence and actually motivated this team to even get one more point when we shouldve many times. wed be in the playoffs right now.

  8. If you’re Derek Lalonde fan or not you have to admit that 7 game losing streak is unacceptable. You always need back up pieces and plans for key injuries. Start winning and leading games early and stop relying on comeback wins!! Focus on gettin more better defensive players. We have great offense but horrible defense.

  9. Thanks for the great year boys . You have made a big step this year. We need to strengthen our D and goaltending which should be priority.

  10. Naturally, gutted right now, but MIGHTY proud of the huge heart, grit and sheer determination to cross the 'PLAYOFFS' line by the end of Game 82, this past week, shown by the Wings👍👏!

We're heading in the right direction. Roll on 2024/25🏒! Let's Go, Red Wings🏒🥅🎯!

  11. Just me, or did it seem like Kane was talking about his tenure in Detroit in the past tense? I really hope he comes back to Detroit.

  12. That gd losing streak did it. I mean one win in that slump would have been the difference. No f ing way Kaner comes back.

  13. This is why the NHL needs to have a point tie breaker game! 🤬 The Red Wings should have an extra game against the Capitals for all out winner for the most points! Not the most regulation wins is just stupid. Red Wings had 41 wins and the Capitals only had 40 total wins. Plus the Wings had 2 less overtime losses. I hate Gary Bettman’s NHL rules! 🤬 Red Wings deserved more to be in the playoffs, not the Islanders or Capitals for sure!🤬
Even College football does it better the NHL! 🤬

  14. The fact that Torts pulled the goalie so early when it was 1-1 and the philly disallowed goal hurts a little more. I also really hate people complaining about the losing streaks saying "if they could have one more win". They lost games they should have won and won games they should have lost, that's the beauty of the NHL, any team can beat any team on any given day.

  15. So why is everyone talking about Philly pulling the goalie can someone elaborate what they did because the way Ken and mick talked about it at the end of the game and now Derek Lalonde just brought it up it sounds intentional like they lost on purpose? I don’t understand..

  16. Really hope Perron comes back. Love his energy and what he brings to the team. Not as skilled as he once was but definitely a great guy to have on your team.

  17. £&@wipe tortorella had to know the score in Montreal and pulls the goalie with 3 minutes left just to sh&t on someone else.

  18. And now we get to watch the annual gifting of the number 1 pick to Chicago by Buttman.

  19. As frustrated as I am Larkin is an amazing captain and it shows how important he is to this hockey team we gotta get better defensive core and more grit in the bottom 6 is this all gonna happen probably not but huge steps forward this season can’t wait to see eddy as a full time top 4 d man for us keep ur head up high larks this was a great season and we be even better next season LGRW !

  20. I know they are broken now, and feeling down, but god I hope Kane stays. We need him for getting into PO next season.

  21. the fact we were 1 game away from playoffs is incredible sign of growth as a team and management. rebuilds do not happen over night, let alone in <5 years. it takes time. 3-4 years ago we were dead last. now we're 1 game away. and to make it even better, we're not Buffalo

  22. Definitely was depressing to see the Wings not make it to playoffs, but watching the last few games has been one of the most entertaining runs by the Wings in a very long time. I'm ready for the rest of the league to consider the Wings to be contenders for the next season. LGRW!

  23. Hey Detroit. I’m a Rangers fan and followed the race the entire last week and was rooting for you. I was starving for an original 6 matchup and wanted a fresh matchup against a young team with unmatched heart and grit. Was pretty disappointed when I saw it was Washington again, as we have played them 5 times in the playoffs since 2009. Really had no interest in playing Pittsburgh again either. You have nothing to be ashamed of. The NHL’s loser point and tie breaking system is a disgrace. The capitals made the playoffs with an actual record of 40-42 and a goal differential of -40. It should be a prerequisite to be at least .500 to clinch a playoff berth. You were the ONLY team in the final 8 seed race that won half their games. You are the 8 seed as far as I’m concerned. But the NHL wants its division rivalry games (the Penguins, who’ve received preferential treatment for 15 years, had 5 PPs to 1 yesterday in their game when they were still alive.)

  24. This is Tort’s fault! He shouldn’t have pulled the goalie out of the net. Now the CRAPITALS are in instead of our Wings! This is stupid! If my Jets don’t make it to the finals I oughta boycott the whole NHL! Wtpg Buttman, ya screwed us over again.

  25. Habs fan: shit for the wings. (Even tho I never liked em) They won 2 amazing back to back games. I was sure by winning tonight they made the playoffs

  26. This one is going to sting for a bit, especially with how the guys fought down the stretch to stay in it. Setting the losing streaks aside, there are a lot of positives to take from this season. We took the season all the way to game 82, always in the mix, finishing at .500 for the first time in quite a while. PK stayed where it was last year mostly but that should be expected given the injuries to main PK guys like Ras and Larkin. The PP, however, went from 17th last season to 9th this season, a huge improvement. Raymond really needs no more praise, but hell, I'll give it to him anyway lol We needed him to break out and he did it. He's going to be that star forward we've been looking for. I know people have been sour on Seider but that guy took the hardest assignments against the best in the leage night after fricking night. Most of the time, he held his own and, for stretchs, he excelled. A better D-Corps is going to show how good he really is. Edvinsson is going to help in that regard. A couple of bonehead decisions with puck for sure but that is to be expected. The guy looked so good down the stretch and was a big part of this run. I can't wait to see his playoff run with Grand Rapids (btw GO GRIFFINS!!!). The prospect pool is developing splendidly and should give everybody some peace right now. And, everybody, let's cool the doom and gloom concerning Kane staying. We don't know what's going to happen, Kane and Yzerman are professionals and aren't going to say a damn thing to the media. There probably won't be any ink on paper for a while. Think about how hard Kane fought with this team, he might feel like business is unfinished and wants another shot. Who knows? So, stop jumping off of bridges. And, what I view as most important, Dylan Larkin is now the undisputed heart, soul, and straight-up leader of this team. Everybody has seen with their eyes the influence that he has night after night. The main talking point about this team, even nationally, was their resilience, how they never quit. I think that is how Larkin never said die and never quit. Hell of a season, guys. I'm looking forward to next year. Not really looking for a conversation either lol. Just thought I'd throw my two cents in on a team that made me truly excited to be a Wings fan for the first time in a very, very long time LGRW!
