Frankly I don't care about what Dallas does because finishing first in the Conference is what is most important.
But if the Rangers win tonight they won't have to bother about anyone catching them anyway.
So, losing against Ottawa would be concerning in that context.

It would be a HUGE tragedy if the Rangers lose the division after being in first for 6+ months. Carolina is an amazing team and has been on Rangers' tails for a while, but mentally, I wonder what it would do if the Rangers lost the top spot. LGR!!! Let's win tonight boyz!!!!!!!

It's a must win tonight. If you blow the division, conference, AND presidents trophy on the last day of the season, that is laughable. You would have to rely on Dallas and Carolina losing, and Boston losing one of its final two games.
