The Jonathan Huberdeau Second half | How bad did the Flames under achieve? | A special teams talk

We delve deep into the Flames’ special teams, highlighting their above average penalty kill that has been a rare bright spot. We also shine a spotlight on Jonathan Huberdeau’s remarkable resurgence in the second half of the season, discussing how his offensive production has improved since the start of the new year.

Despite flashes of brilliance, it’s impossible to ignore the underachievement of the Flames this season. With moderate expectations and a talented roster, the team fell short of reaching their full potential, and ultimately resulted in a trade deadline sell off.

  1. I've only been able to see the Flames live once in the last few years. Hubey looks worse in person than on TV lol.

I'm interested to see where he fits in a rebuilding team, he will need to be much more flexible and open to really adapting to the structure and the kids coming in over the next few years.

Some support with adding some more talent won't hurt either. In my eyes, his biggest struggle is adapting to a whole new system with a mercurial roster. He was one of an embarrassment of riches in Florida and it was probably much easier to play his style with almost a whole team built to get the best out of him and Barkov
