  1. I love it when people want to scapegoat the coach as if there are no other issues or no one else has any responsibility. I get that all we're used to in Detroit sports are coaching carousels, but we've seen how well that has worked over the years.

  2. The coach appears to have the same lack of urgency and condescending tone as that of the GM.

  3. Really not a big deal…trying to put the focus on what’s in front of them now, not next year. Huge overreaction. Idk if you pay attention to hockey that much by this video lol, you have no grasp of where this team is at in the rebuild. Have several plugs in the lineup till the kids are developed in GR, this current squad is a bubble team and that’s exactly where they’re at.

  4. I don't mind the coach yet. The team's progressed. I honestly didn't expect them to make playoffs this year. He's made some decissions I don't agree with but there's a reason he's worked his way up and I'm typing in the comments section….

  5. White Castle is still legit. Other than that, you are 100% correct. This Red Wings season is a complete collapse and failure if they don’t make the playoffs.

  6. This is just rage bait. It’s not really hard to understand Lalonde’s perspective here. The roster is dogshit. Between himself and Yzerman, they have not once said they expect to be a playoff team. The rebuild hasn’t ended, it’s barely started. From way overvaluing prospects to bad goal tending signings to a roster full of replacement-level senior citizens.
If you’re really serious this team was playing sustainable playoff hockey, you sit on your fucking brain.

  7. I love how Newsie and even many fans here accept mediocrity. I suppose it's just how society works, "work hard and be rewarded"? Nah, it's okay to lose. Sorry, I was raised to be better, and after 8 years of a rebuild and ZERO prospect for a winning season in 2024-2025, things will happen: real fans will flashback to the Dead Wings of the 70s and 80s. There's no savior like Mike Illitch because the salary cap prevents building a winning team in a single decade. Ticket sales will plummet. Concessions sales will plummet. Jersey sales (except Larkin) sales will plummet. Sure, post your hate comments about the Yzerplan taking time, fine. But I want to be a winner, not a loser and too many people today think that losing is okay, and that explains why our country is in the pi$$ poor shape its in right now. This team needs a coach, not a buddy to player needs, sorry Newsie, time to go. We need a Jon Cooper/John Tortorella/Scotty Bowman hybrid who cares more about winning than his players feelers. Period.

  8. Future steps for the Red Wings.
Fire Lalonde. Nice guy but the style of play he has the team playing just isn't getting it done.

  9. Here's what I think of Derek Lelonde… He deserves to be fired!! Clearly he doesn't know what he's doing.. he's only there cause he & Yzerman knew each other from Tampa.
Speaking of Tampa, I think they're dynasty run is over, they are heading into a rebuild.. so that would be a perfect opportunity for Yzerman to bring in Jon Cooper.. since I would think Cooper doesn't wanna be in a rebuild, plus Tampa has players heading into free agency.

  10. Yzerman needs to realize the Wings are not Tampa, and what worked in Tampa then is not going to work quite the same in Detroit. Yes, the Wings are better this year than the last few, but LaLonde could have made some better decisions over the past month and a half or so. Taking time outs when planning some plays to try to tie it to get to OT. I was thrilled that Raymond got the game tied in Pitt. But they still managed to blow it in OT.

  11. No starting goalie and no depth at d equals no playoffs. Who would you bring in instead? A firey coach who the veterans wont play gor and who will burn out 3/4 through the season, look at Philly, or a softer coach who will coddle the veterans and not be able yo fevelop out prospects. They just don't have a good enough roster right now and fans think they do, they're crazy. You can't get into the playoffs if you dont have the roster, lots of guys will be gone next year, they'll bring up prospects, fans will complain about the prospects, the delusions never end. They need a lot of changes yo make it to the playoffs and this roster isn't good enough.

  12. I'm w/ Riger, but what do we know? All we want to do is make the playoffs and go from there to see what happens. The Wings need to bring back winners. The Wings have fans nationwide, especially and including here in Florida, and we want them in the playoffs. And no, we're not native Floridians, we're native Detroiters/Michiganders who fled the area for reasons like better weather, etc. LGRW from Northeast Florida!!!
