Great analysis on several topics. I couldn’t agree more with the physicality issue. When the chips are down in big games, we get run out of the rink and get out-muscled repeatedly. Having Rossi protecting Kaprisov against the Jets with Stanley taking his free liberties last Saturday was ridiculous. Foligno is constantly hurt, and we need to bulk up and get bigger – period. Agree with Jessi, Gusty could still become a solid goalie but really did take a step backwards. If 29 says he’s in, I could see Gusty pulling in a decent ransom – maybe a bigger D and a pick, while Fleury mentors Wallstedt. The blue-liners in Iowa must not have shown enough upside to be called up because this was the year for someone other than Faber to step up. Play the kids – excited to see Olgren, wish Yulov were available. Give Beckman his ice, Khusnutdinov etc. One more year of cap hell, then the contracts drain off and Guerin has a full deck of cards. Heidt doesn’t really bring size, he’s 5’10” 180lbs. And if you look at him he’s got a pretty small frame. Our big boy prospects are Stramel, Kumpulainen, and Lorenz. Ohgren too, he’s sitting at 6’1” 200+lbs.
