The Minnesota Wild were officially eliminated from postseason contention after a 5-2 loss to Colorado on the road Tuesday night. Nathan MacKinnon continued his Hart Trophy campaign with a hat trick as part of a 4 point night and the Avs used 3 second period goals to build up a lead they never relinquished. Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy scored in the first period for the Wild, but similar issues that have been on display all season showed up again and the Wild will officially play their final game of the season on April 18th. The Wild are at Vegas to take on the Golden Knights for their next game on Friday.

Avs fan(& Nuggets-HUGE game tomorrow TWolves) & I work at Ball arena.But you mentioned Nichuskin on our 2nd line-26 goals,& 50pts…not sure if you realize he's only played 51 games. So he's more on 40+ goal,80ish point pace.About 2 wks ago-he was still top 5 in the NHL in PP goals-despite missing like 2 months. Im not sure where he is today-he missed a few more games.I didn't listen to the whole podcast yet,& I'm not sure how many games Johansen has played.But in that context it highlights the comparison even more.
But hey-I dislike the Wild as much as any team in sports but you guys are awesome.Super knowledgeable,& fair-not at all shameless homers. We all want our teams to win but I TRY to be somewhat unbiased also & that's what I appreciate & the kind of analysis I like to listen to. I watch you guys after every Av game but somewhat often-when we aren't even playing ya-cuz you have a balanced,measured,& intelligent show-which isn't really the norm. I watch a lot of Av,& other Western conference pods (nba also) & you guys are as good as any of them.

That's f***ing insane to play 11 F and 7 D two games in a raw ! Less than 10 mins for Khusnutdinov and another 25+ mins for Kaprizov. And i gave up on GusBus. If rumor is right about his lack of discipline this season (it was told by Jessy Pearce on SkorNorth podcast) it's better to trade him this summer for whatever you can get.

Regarding goaltending…….Gus is only under contract for 2 seasons. You gotta ask yourself, do you want Flower for 1 season or Gus for 2 seasons. Which is going to be more beneficial for Jesper?
IMO, you trade Gus and resign Fluery for 1 year and let Fluery and Jesper split 60/40, but I won't be disappointed if that doesn't happen.
Either way, we don't need BOTH Gus and Fluery in 2024.
What is also bad are the wild will be drafting 12-15. You don't get game changers there.

Does anybody have any idea what the hell we just witnessed against Colorado?! McKinnon has never had an easier time of it against The Wild until this season. They should have taken their medicine and tanked but instead they took a page out of the Viking playbook and screwed up any chance of getting a top tier young gun to help this franchise. The management lied to us but more so lied to themselves thinking they could compete. They had no depth and most of their starting lineup was just okay except for 3 to 5 players and that could be suspect. I told my brah in January 82-92 points was the best this team could do. This was an easy prediction to make because I assumed the team would have an equal amount of ups and downs which told me around .500 to a hair above. I feel as though they tried lying to us about their chances and I won’t soon forget the flat out dishonesty of this franchise. I didn’t fall for it but there are a lot of gullible fans in the hockey and football fan base that appear to drink triple shots of hopium koolaid before each game. Sorry I can’t live that way. The lies were so repulsive this year I quit watching even the highlights. The Twins did this exact same thing to the fans when Carl Pohlad ran the team. The Twins even tried to contract the team (if I have the right word) which means baseball would leave Minnesota. We’ve been screwed by so many franchises. The North Stars left! The Twins essentially extorted that new stadium out of the fan base. Oh how’s that working out for that fan base. Any World Series appearances yet. I’m pretty sure they promised us a better brand of baseball but until last year 🤮. So that’s two now it appears we have a third franchise that thinks they can lie and we won’t spot it. I’m giving this franchise exactly four years to win a Stanley Cup and if they can’t produce there’s no sense to waste or expend useless energy hoping they’ll come clean and be honest with the fan base. We have The Ex-North Stars and The Twins as proof pro franchises fuck over these fan bases. The Vikings for many years fucked over this fan base but because we really love football here we over looked it but it doesn’t change the fact they abused their fans here for a long time. The sad part is The Timberwolves are now more trusted (how the hell did that happen) than the other 3 franchises. I can take down times because it’s the way of sport but it’s the lying and conniving that upsets me.4 years is all we should give them and if this is as good as it gets in the next four years with minimal improvement it’s time to do something else with your time. If they win a Stanley Cup in 4 years all can be forgiven but lying in a relationship is a biggie for many people.
