I also found myself yelling at my screen! Agree, TNT coverage terrible. Why so much time spent on Bread drinking during the game? Dawson was amazing, salt of the earth. I knew he had it in him. I also think it isn't over. Dermy was charitable, but got the point across. Proud of our boys overall. Greener and Lav throwing punches would've been hilarious. Was at game 11 rows behind devil bench along blue line…yes macdermid edged rempe…but watching it when I got home it was closer than people think…whole fight was not on tv..rempe landed 3 great shots you don't see and macdermid landed a real good shot you don't see…macdermid gets the victory but it was closer than it seems…rempe is a young 21 year old kid taking on the leagues big boys…IF he sticks around..he is only going to get bigger..stronger and tougher..he will be tough to beat
Ok, that was badass and I’m proud of the Devils tonight. Rempe will eventually take the beat down he deserves. Mac won the fight but it wasn’t a beat down, so there needs to be round 2.
Lazar was a madman, worst shot he took was when the Rags player decided to hit him while he was on the ice. Same with Marino. Classless, scummy Rags. All that doesn’t matter though. What matters is that for the first time this season, the Devils decided to stick up for each other and this may end up being a spark for next season. Mercer is awesome. He was fired up from the brawl. I f’in LOVE IT!

I will admit I was wrong with saying the Devils can’t pull off a line brawl. It’s was glorious.
Also, the Devils didn’t lose the last one vs the Rags. I think the only reason one of the Devils were bleeding was because his face hit the ice on the way down. Other than that, F the Rags.

The Rangers will have some issues heading into the playoffs. Tampa Bay are starting to heat up now, and the Panthers will be ready too. The Rangers do not want to meet either team in the first round. It could be another early exit for them. Lav is already juggling his bottom 6 game to game. They played a lackluster game against Pittsburgh as well.
The Devs will be back next season and will hopefully address the issues at hand this summer. We had an injury plagued season, along with all of the other issues. It is a good team at its core, the younger players are getting “on the job” training as it were. We will be back!

The Devils looked like a bunch of bitches last night. It was fantastic to watch.
I live in Europe and am so glad I stayed up for this one. Has anyone caused as much chaos in five minutes of ice time as Rempe has? Whatever he turns out to be as a player, he's turned the dial up to 11 on the rivalry. I heard McDermid speak after the game, and it seems he's happy with how it turned out tonight. Hockey is the most fun when it's Rangers-Devils at each other's throats. Lafreniere seems to have figured it out, which means we'll also have a spicy rivalry between him and Hughes. It's looking good for a rivalry that has been lukewarm for a decade.
The Devils disappointed this year, which is why the Metro looks dismal outside of the Rangers and Canes, but I'm confident this year will light a spark in the Devils, and they'll learn from it. They still need to work on defensive play and goaltending. Even though Kaponen played well, he was on edge all night. They need to pick up at least an NHL-average starting goalie through trade or free agency and probably should focus on grooming a goalie through the draft.
Macdermid won the fight. Not by a mile but it looked to me like Rempe got tired first. And all those little lefty jabs while he was hanging on to the jersey, that was pretty masterful.
Great just to see this team stand up for itself. Surprised to see Marino fight. And Mercer. I know Bahl fought Goodrow in the playoffs but someone bigger than Tierney needed to kick Trouba's ass too.

The Line Brawl accomplished nothing other than show Rempe will not be intimidated. The other "fights" were not fights in that the players really had no animosity. So the fans got ripped off out of seeing the natural flow of the game.
I have nothing against the Rmpe MacDermid fight. But the rest of it was non-sense. Vesey? Miller? Really?
Oh, and–as usual–the Devils lost the game.
I wouldn't give MacDormid a decisive win. All Rempe has to do is hold his own against NHL big boys, since he can also play and is a menace in front of the net. Hence, if MacDermid doesn't knock out Rempe, Rempe wins. I'd also dispute that MacDermid won the fight at all. looked like a draw.
