The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to keep their momentum going as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning who have been on a strong roll and provide a great test for the Leafs. Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti give their thoughts on what the Leafs could expect from the Lightning, Morgan Rielly expected to return and what is at stake in the game. They move on to the Leafs’ decision to not hold a formal practice and what it shows about their planning for the final stretch of the season and the benefits they have seen so far. To end the show, Mike and Dave give their thoughts on the Newfoundland Growlers being terminated from the ECHL and the implications this will have on the Leafs.

  1. L M A O At 34 : 50 Cant drive to NFLD yeah they have this thing called the NFLD Ferry that you drive ur car on to and they bring u over to the Rock .

  2. You raise an interesting point about development funds for the ECHL. On an ECHL roster in a given year, how many players will play 500 AHL games? How many will play at least 1 NHL game? What are the percentages that you will get someone who plays 100 or 200 NHL games. My belief is that the answer to those questions have been researched and there is a $$$ figure attached to each answer. The truth may be that that investment is just not very compelling. I'll bet all 32 NHL teams have their answer. Maybe it's just an unattractive investment. There are likely other investment options that carry a bigger return, perhaps at the AHL level. Many nationalized healthcare systems have calculated the value of a human life in economic terms and have dabbled in using that as a means of evaluating population health and treatment options. Would this be any different?
