Yes I would trade Caufield and our best 2024 pick for Celebrini. I would even add one more significant asset if needed like one of our D and/or another 1st.

I'm a die hard Leafs fan, but more importantly I'm a die hard hockey fan..I love talking hockey rumors as much as the next guy, but why in the blue HELL would the Habs package a first round pick with Cole Caufield to draft first overall?! Cellebrini looks like he MIGHT be an elite superstar in the NHL, but I would rather hang onto that pick and either flip it for a player in their mid 20's or stay put and use it to draft a prospect. As far as Caufield..hes a proven NHL star who can score 30-40 goals minimum, when healthy….idk who starts these rumors, but they obviously don't follow the game of hockey, wow..just wow lol
So if the world junior hockey players are found NOT guilty, or plea deal, or the case is thrown out for whatever reason, you suggest that their careers would be over? Could you please expand on those thoughts TSH guy? I'm confused by your take. Like they're done…right OR wrong??

You do know what is happening you just can't adjust to it. The Habs are small , with average skill and a great fanbase. All they want to do is think about the Habs. when they are 5 yrs away from relevance. Their fans literally cant stand it. So they make a social media board game of who they can trade away for more value than he is worth. All fan bases do this, you know it but need clics so you participate.
Cualfield small and already not earning a long term contract. Let's trade him for the first overall…..who we both know does not want to play there. But what the hell Montreal fans are like drug addicts that need a hit. Why not some innocent young guy who never hurt anyoned.
As a habs fan i love the idea of trading for the 1st. But would have to be a different package including defensemen. Also, the issue with selling the farm for this "tier 1 prospect" is this was the same talk with Lafreniere and he hasnt been franchise alternating in NY.

Re: Caufield + 1st rounder for Celebrini: NOPE!!!! Caufield dipped a bit this season BUT still can score 20-30+ goals in his sleep and I predict he hits 50 goals before he turns 25yo!!!! Celebrini hasn't proven anything yet!!!! Not worth it for Habs.
Cole and a first for cellebrini I’d do that trade. But I think you would have to give up more than that.

Caufield and a first isn’t enough for a bottom feeder rebuilder to move off a potential franchise changing 1C, and even though Celebrini is great, giving up your best pure goal scorer and a first isn’t a smart move for one guy, especially when MTL is still not there yet.
It could work for some, like you mentioned Buffalo, Calgary, maybe even Philly. But not Montreal

If I'm one of the bottom teams…depends on where Montreal's 1st round pick is and how those teams see the players in that range.
Overall if the team believes Celebrini could be a franchise center than that's a major NO WAY. Caulfield is a very expensive 20 goal scorer with potential to score maybe 40, but not elite which makes him easily obtainable in other ways.
Love my HABS but the Montreal media sometimes… ugh and don’t even get me started on Laraque
First of all Celebrini ain't no Bedard, far from it …
Caufield, who just turned 23, will most likely hit the 60+ points plateau with a young team still lacking offensive talent, which is not to say the least…
Habs need offensive skilled forwards, so you don't trade already the little you have…
Habs are rich in young upcoming and talented defencemen… so Hughes can offer his first round pick and a choice of only ONE of the following: Hutson, Reinbacher, or Mailloux.
I'll take the 5th or 6th and draft Lidstrom or Eiserman
