    I think people are underrating the effort Westbrook put in to closing out on that ref at 0:11 .Everybody knows that guy is the Ray Allen of referees!

    Russell Westbrook imo is probably a better defender than Rose. DId you watch the olympics? He was picking people up at halfcourt and picking pockets. I didn't see Rose doing much of that in the 2011 tournament. Rose looks like a good defender because of the guys around him, but I think Russ is better by a lot. I agree with everything else you've said though. He needs to cut down the turnovers and be more of a facilitator. His heart is in the right place but his head is not.

    By playing defense, you need to know how to defend on-ball and off-ball. Westbrook is a good on-ball defender. The guy is in front of him so there really isn't much to it but to make him work for his shot. Team defense is where he fails. He tends to focus on the ball and not on his defensive assignment so much. This can result in poor doubles, etc.He needs to learn how to trust his teammates both offensively and defensively. He tends to always try to do things his way rather than the team's way.

    I agree completely, but thats not what you said. You said he was a bad defender in general which is not true. Either way he's a damn good player and people need to lay off of him. He's got much to improve, but so do a lot of players. He's 23 years old. He's not a finished product. That being said, neither is Harden and they shoulda held on to him.

    Yes, I agree. It remains to be seen whether Westbrook will improve on his decision making and buy into their team philosophy. If not, the only way for Westbrook to win a championship is if Durant flat out carries his team on his back., but then again KD isn't exactly a finished product either. Oh and I never specifically said Westbrook was a bad defender in general, at least I didn't mean it that way. It's just that there are only so many characters I can use per comment. lol.

    hahaha i know the feeling. Yeah KD also needs to take control more. Westbrook wrongly takes over because Durant is too shy and nice to command the ball from his teammates. He averaged 30 a game in the finals. Shoulda been 40 the way he was shooting. He should have taken more shots. That being said, they are still learning the game. Its scary how young they are and that they will only get better

    Westbrook was straight up lost on that play! He cost them the game that is some if the worst defence you could play on a potential game winning play
