  1. Positives:

    Morel looked good
    Busch looked good
Cody and Seiya hit the ball hard

We need Happ to wake up as you need offense to carry us now with what's left of our rotation / bullpen.

  2. If one injury puts the Cubs in rough shape then they aren’t as good or deep as people have been saying. This team could easily regress to what they were supposed to be last year.

  3. Went into extra innings with the defending champs on opening day. Morel and Busch looked great and outside of a couple of mishaps late in the game defensively we looked sharp on the field. I'm concerned about the bullpen and wish we could've won but lots to be excited about. Going to be a long season.

  4. Let’s make sense of the 2024 Cubs! They are not going any farther in this season than a wild card spot! So what we can do to improve this team is to get the rookies playing time and figure out who will produce in the majors!

  5. Put some respect on Travis Jankowskis name he’s not just some back up. That guy turned down multi year deals to be a starter to sign a 1 year with the rangers and be a backup outfielder

  6. I don't know which audio you all listened to, but I listened to the ESPN broadcast!! They mentioned, during the Rangers at bats that, Craig Counsell knew what he had at the back end of his bullpen, in Milwaukee, with Josh Hader, but, with the Cubs, he's just throwing darts!! Sort of speak!!🧐🤔

  7. This first game is a Tell Tale of this up coming season. Not QUITE enough pitching, Not QUITE enough hitting. The best for a 500 team.

  8. Game loss was by far worst, guess you aren’t checking comments Matt lol. Love you guys jeep it going this season

  9. Texas got their 10th inning runner to 3rd by ground out to 3rd. They were smart. So why didn't Cubs do same by Ground ball or bunt ?

  10. Boy Cubs should have gone and gotten Jordon Montgomery cause we could really use him now. Hoping Justin Steele can get back as soon as possible.

  11. All you guys do are whine and feel bad for yourselves as cubs fan. He’ll meet 4-5 starts and it’s not his arm. It’s an overreaction. And why are we accentuating what the offense did. Despite runs scored, they were scorching balls every other at bat over 100mph. Guys walked. Defense was ok. Morel just missed a 750 foot grand slam. Lastly stop with the Snell and Montgomery crap. The cubs have their own metrics and obviously like Brown, Horton, Assad, etc. better than paying those guys 30-50 mil/year. And because Steele left so suddenly the cubs had little opportunity to warm anyone up. And Steele was straight dealing. 6:1K through 5.1 and TX had bad ABs. They were not seeing the ball.

48 out of 67 pitches for strikes. 72%. We also blew three leaves. It’s an anomaly and if they cubs play like that all season, they are going to win a lot of games. Be smart.

  12. Well, Counsell is winless as a Cubs Manager and Brewers are ubdefeated. 😦😦😦. Chicago deserves Counsell.
