Very glad of that sign, as I mentionned it when they signed mcmann hoping the same for Benoît. Now they need a new era on défense and not signing again brodie, giordano and liljegren keeping the money for free agents or an exchange. I realy think that treliving is placing his pawns for next year

Benoit reminds me of former Leafs defence man Sylvain Lefebvre. Just a really strong no nonsense defensive defence man who plays 100% every game. Good deal.
I never made the food association but by farrrr the most notable is Phil Kessel. Minutes after he lifted the cup, someone photoshopped a hotdog there instead. So glad he got the ironman just to rub it in the face of the naysayers.

in terms of "defense", there isn't a Toronto Maple Leaf that I trust more than Simon Benoit. Always in the right spot, battles hard, rarely makes a mistake, clears the front of the net better than most in the NHL and he hits a ton… game in and game out. Great signing for the Leafs and at a very, very reasonable, team friendly cap hit. Simon Bernoit earned this contract and he deserves every penny.

Always seems risky to sign a player whose style is heavily physical to more than a couple years. But Treliving seems to like the 3 year deal.

I like. It shows some maturity it the team’s management that they realize they can’t let guys like Benoit walk and try to replace him with another minimum wager. By the end of this coming playoffs, Benoit will bleed blue and white. LOVE those guys.
