– Hog and Miller are on fire shooting at 19% and 18% respectively. Somewhat concerned as weβve seen guys like Boeser, Lafferty, and Blueger regress down to their normal percentages during this stretch.
– However, Garland is finally enjoying some positive regression as heβs scoring more.
– Although 11% is a decent clip, Petey is shooting significantly less than average (roughly 17%). Maybe heβll bound back come playoff timeβ¦
– Mikheyev and Suter are cursed (2.8 and 2.6% shooting percentage in that time).
– Lindholmβs overall offensive game has been concerning as his shooting percentage has been healthy. Could indicate that he needs better linemates if he was to start producing. Defensively has been fine and the faceoffs have still been reliable. However, itβs fair to judge that trade as he needs to get going soon.
Overall, the Canucks 5v5 game and shooting clip is a contrast from the first two months of the season. Positives and negatives in these last two months to take but the #1 concern is the PP. If our special teams are below average, no chance we beat LA or Nashville, let alone square up next to Colorado, Dallas, and Edmonton.

I think they have to roll Lindholm out with Pettersson when he gets back, Blueger/Suter will be fine down the middle

Our PP has been so fucking abysmal and should be our major concern moving forward. Even IF those two non calls were penalties last night I had little to no faith in this group scoring on them.
They are flat footed and rely on Hughes to move the puck far too much. As soon as the puck is on his stick teams just double team him and try to push him out of the zone while the rest of the PP just sits there and watches. Itβs lazy fucking hockey.
Petersons work level has been low as fuck Iβm sure heβs βtryingβ but it looks lazy as hell and hasnβt made a difference in a competitive game in a long time.
The only players that look like they wanted to win last night are Hughes, miller and Joshua.
Sorry for the language but Iβd really prefer not to see a shitty effort and take a first round exit.

Maybe a hottake but, this is the results of Tocchet’s system. Over time it regresses to less scoring as teams play against it and learn to counter it.

Brock Boeser might have a decent one-time shot but does nothing else. Average skater, no speed, soft, very soft personality and no grit. And too streaky. If another player was given his opportunities, theyβd also score 37 goals. Overrated.
