GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Blue Jackets (03.28.24) | Malkin Scores Two Power-Play Goals



Thursday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Columbus Blue Jackets for the first of a home and home over three days. Columbus started the scoring in the 2nd period. Following that goal with a power play opportunity, Evgeni Malkin capitalized and tied the game. The Blue Jackets scored another goal to take back the lead. Before the period ended, the Penguins had a second power-play. Once again Malkin hammered the puck home netting his second of the night. Heading into the 3rd tied 2-2, Drew O’Connor scored the go-ahead goal to take the Penguins first lead of the game. Pittsburgh defended against Columbus and kept them off the board for the rest of the game and took the victory with a final score of 3-2.

  1. Ned playing great, easily one of Dubas best moves. Hearing Rumors about Jarry getting moved in off season. Young CBJ goalie looking like another stellar Russian net minder. Can we get one?

  2. Simply moving Sid and Geno to the left side on the power play changes everything. I hope we get a power play coach because the Pens have all the talent.
