Wishing him nothing but the best and hope he can come out overcoming whatever it is he’s going through him. I know the organization and players are supporting him ❤️

I hope he’s ok and the program helps him. I know his time here hasn’t been super successful so far, but I like the guy. He seems like a good dude (as much as we can tell with athletes from the outside).

I’ve been holding out hope lately that he can have a good offseason and that camp with the caps sets him up for more success with the team.

Wishing him and his family all the best, I hope he takes all the time he needs to get better, and that he comes back and thrives ❤️

Wish he didn’t have to step away, but if he needs help I am glad that it is there for him. It takes courage to ask for this kind of help. Hope it works out for him and he is able to get a handle on whatever it is.

Best wishes Ethan, we are all pulling for you.

Reminder that this isn’t always about substance abuse. It’s for all mental health issues. For example, a few years ago Spencer Knight went into the program for help managing OCD

Whatever it is that he is dealing with I wish him and his whole family nothing but the best. It must be a really difficult time for all those involved. I’ve been a supporter and a fan of his ever since he went pro. His first four seasons in the WHL with Seattle as a Thunderbird and the first three seasons in the NHL with the Oilers.

Does the team have a curse or something? 3rd Cap or former Cap player to go into the program. 🤨

26 years old. Way too young to not put your personal health above playing a children’s game.

Hopefully Ethan gets the help he needs.  ❤️

As an Oilers and Caps fan, I can only think this comes from his time in Edmonton. They did everything they could in this market to break this young man. It was inhumane, and he got no support from teammates when he was in his darkest moments. Never really recovered to be a solid top 4 guy again, save 20 games in Vancouver.

Between him and Jesse Puljujarvi, there is nothing more I want to see than these young guys succeed after getting out of this cesspool.
