Seems like Rod might be trying to mix things up based on the lines at practice today.

I’m wondering if the Aho line’s recent shutdown performances are giving him the confidence to break up the Staal line in search of an offensive spark.

After last night’s disappointing single goal (on a lucky bounce) performance, second place is a virtual certainty, so the remaining regular season games are unlikely to have any impact on opponent or home ice advantage/disadvantage through at least the first two rounds of the playoffs, which makes it seem like a good time to experiment with some things to try to get ready for the playoffs and hopefully avoid any of these 40 SOG/1 goal games there.

We got the scorers we wanted. There are many guys on the team capable of scoring. Rod just has to figure out how to get them to actually do it consistently.

That’s quite a shake up, but I guess now is the time.

We’re pretty 99.9% sure we’re in the playoffs.

We’re kinda out of the race for Metro title or Presidents cup for now…. So focusing on figuring out what is needed for playoffs makes perfect sense.

We got the talent and players, just need to find what works best.

Way to go Jarvy staying on the 1st line! What a beauty.

And to think he was counted out as a somewhat permanent 3rd liner previously…

I hate Kuzy’s line on paper, he seems to be tailor made for Necas together, and I’d rather see Svech bump down and have a Turbo Kuzy Necas line.

Kuzy’s got way more talent than being a shutdown 3rd line grinder, but I guess that’s the idea behind mixing it up.

Any news on why Necas is out? Or is it more to just try to get Fast back in during practice to acclimate

Let’s wait and see. I love Drury and Noesen back together. Hope we see KK start going with that, but I’d be super happy to see Lemieux with how he’s played down there as well if KK needs to be cycled off.

Staal with Svech and turbo is actually very interesting

I’m intrigued by Martinook Kuzy and Fast as welll, Martinook and fast are such grinders that they should be able to grind their way to the front of the net for a saucy Kuzy dish

I’d imagine we don’t stick with this long at all and Rod is just looking for possible chemistry for mixups in the playoffs

Weird. Hope Necas is alright, he’s been the best and most consistent second line guy. But also now is the time of year to try shit and figure things out. Neither of those middle 6 lines do much for me

Ooo I don’t like those lines at all

You can shake the lines up, but Staal in the top 6 isn’t it

Who am I to question these lines but I hate them and I hope it’s just experimenting in practice. Maybe it’s mad sorcery, I hope it is.

I think Kuzy is an elite, unique passing talent. I want him with two guys who can finish, and I’d prefer they play together enough to know when and where those elite passes are going. JG and Necas. 2nd line go. Just put the SAT line back together and imo Svech is out of his funk in a game or two. First line, transform. Marty and Jarvy rhyme, and both seem capable of getting some clutch goals even when centered by the guy who is admittedly an offensive black hole. 3rd line engage. And we have an embarrassment of riches to choose from for the 4th line.

Idk it seems simple to me but I’m stupid and Rod isn’t so whatever, work your magic.

Flashbacks to the weirdest line of the playoffs last season.

    Turbo-Staal-Necas

While first line was Mac/Noesen Aho Jarvis lol

I’m always terrible with our lineups. Has svech been on the first line this season? I always felt he’s best with someone like Stall who’s our only consistent net front.
