In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Capitals shutting out the Winnipeg Jets by a score of 3-0. The last time the Caps played the Jets they got shutout by 3-0. Alex Ovechkin scored two goals as he is just hitting his stride. John Carlson also found the back of the net. A great win for the Capitals as Caps fans celebrated TJ Oshie’s 1000th game at Capital One Arean. This game did see the return of Oshie and Protas. Charlie Lindgren continues to be a rockstar between the pipes as he shot down Winnipeg’s Jet. The Capitals (35-26-9, 79 pts. in 70 GP) now lead the Detroit Red Wings (36-29-6, 78 pts. in 71 GP) by one point for the final Wild Card position in the Eastern Conference with one game in hand.

This was an important win. I thought Winnipeg was a difficult matchup for us and in the 2nd period, they were. But after getting smashed in Winnipeg and then coming back with a win like this quickly answers one of our worst loses of the year. This team has a lot of pluck, a lot of bounce back. And it's great to see Ovi hot. When he gets hot, he gets very hot. LETS GO CAP!! BEAT DETROIT!!
I can definitely say that this has been an entertaining season. Up, down, up again and riding the tail of the playoff dragon. I seriously hope they get in just to see what they manage to pull off.

I think one thing we’ve learned over the last two seasons is that a healthy John Carlson is a huge difference maker to this squad. 25+ minutes of solid defence and offence makes the game for the rest of the team that much easier.
Been saying it since the beginning of the season/end of last. Chucky is a way better goalie then Kuemper why Washington was so determined to have Kuemper be our starter I have no idea.
