  1. Sorry but i dont get the fervor over the Bader and co models. Its clearly not predictive, yet it purports to be so. Slafs dy card from bader was extremely low on both star and nhl chances. Bader even said the slaf pick doesnt look good.

Now here we are, with an outdated projection, with a 99% nhl chance (whoopee, he's been in the nhl for a while now, bud), and his comparables are either washed up or guys who dont even play the way he plays.

Now I'm sure theres a lot of work that we dont know about, but how exactly is a pure plug and play, stat-based model time consuming? Unless he's doctoring the results to look a certain way? Or maybe bader was reluctant to even release it since Slaf looking good is bad for his brand?

His most hilarious card, imho, is Kopitar, which went from like 8% star / 40% nhler to 96% on both in one year

  2. This is why you can't rely solely on numbers (and I'm an engineer), they only give you part of the answer. A Justin Williams comparison is absolutely ridiculous. Slaf the last 3 months has played better than Williams ever did (except in Game 7s). The eye test definitely shows that Slaf's star potential is quite high. He's big, strong, can shoot, pass, has that dog in him. I would give his star potential at 85%

  3. When Justin Williams, Zetterberg we're just starting out. The NHL was at an all-time low in scoring. Now it's pretty high. The comparison's not even the same.

  4. SLAFKOVSKY numbers are looking promising, he is hitting, getting playing time, his shots are a bit lower than I would like, but he has some PP and PIM, great for fantasy. I am pretty sure he will be a good fantasy player in the years to come

  5. Sign arber to a 5 year contract or if they are going to trade him send his young brother with him then i can cheer for my new team and kiss the habs googbye

  6. I hate that guy. That is the douche who tried to take out Saku's Eyeball and cost us the series with his dirty play. Slaf is already 10x the man Williams will ever be in my eyes! I hope they never compare him to that idiot ever again. It ain't hard to be Mr Clutch in the playoffs when the opposing team won't step 10 feet from you because they cherish their eyesight. There is a reason all the original 6 teams and their fans hate that rat. I hope Slaf is never as hated as Williams.

  7. The comparable players list is laughable. In summary, Slafkovsky's potential could range anywhere from a career minor leaguer to Henrik Zetterberg. At least now we know he won't be the next Connor McDavid.

  8. I don't think the comparison is similar at all. A 6'4 220 lb player typically takes more time to adapt and grow into their body comfortably. They also have a higher upside… Higher upside + longer development curve… He still has so much potential and constantly improves. If he works on his wrist shot he will be deadly. His passing and vision are already significantly improved. I can see him developing into a consistent 60 to 80-point player.
