Different scoring eras.
Sundin played in dead puck area with his best winger probably Mogliny?

Willy playing with some good players
I am not shitting on Sundin, ever.
But…. Willy can do thing with the puck we’ve never seen anyone Leaf from that era do.
In that 94 point season the next highest scoring leaf player was Wendel Clark with 49 points.
Different players and eras. Sundin was also a centre.
Hell, Sundin played in the dead puck era
Imagine if Sundin had someone even comparable to Willy on his wing
Will Styles has been carrying us lately.
Put 34 on Mats’ wing and he’d have 140 points.
How many conference finals has Nylander been to? Mats Sundin is far superior to Nylander. Stop it with this nonsense.
This tweet is so incredibly dumb
Sundin would blow the fuck off 94 points in this era.
Gutless tweet
Okay, Sundin had 115(?) pts in his third season and almost scored 50. What is the comparison here? Different eras, two beautiful Swedes.
And they will both never win a cup
No disrespect to Nylander, but he is no Sundin
Boring fact..tell me about there Jewish affiliation and whose was stronger.
Ill take Sundin everytime over Nylander
In the 1996-97 season, Mats Sundin was 12th in goals with 41, and 7th in the NHL in points with 94.
This season, William Nylander is 9th in the NHL in goals with 40 and 7th in the NHL in points with 94.
Pretty similar placement wise in comparison to the rest of the league tbh. Comparing teammates, however is night and day. The next two highest scoring leafs in 1997 were Gilmour and Clark with 60 and 49 points.
Remember when Cherry couldn’t believe we took him over Ritchie?
If Sundin played today my guess is he would be best leaf currently on the roster.
