Nils Lundkvist is Ready for the Playoffs | Would you rather the Stars win the West or Central?

Nils Lundkvist is ready to take the next step and be in the lineup come the postseason. He has proven he can defend at a high enough level in the NHL worthy enough of being the partner with Ryan Suter. He is a better option than Jani Hakanpaa at this stage with the pairings Head Coach Pete DeBoer is deploying. Joey makes his case for Lundkvist in the opening segment of today’s episode of Locked On Stars, and gives his opinion on if he believes it will happen. Then it’s time for a little fun and play would you rather postseason edition. The three scenarios are would you rather win the Western Conference and play Vegas or win the Central and play Nashville? Would you rather play Colorado or Edmonton in the Western Conference Finals and then would you rather be without Wyatt Johnston or Jake Oettinger in the playoffs? What would your answers be and why? To close out the episode we look at tonights game against the San Jose Sharks on the road. The Stars have won both games against San Jose this season, but now without drama. Both wins had to come past regulation, can Dallas play up to their potential and make it easy tonight. We shall see.

  1. Nils has been terrific. Keep him in the lineup. I'd rather the Stars win the West. We'll see about the matchups.

  2. If you don't have Earp, you can plug Bourque in there. lots of pressure to put on the kid, but why not? Move Benn to center, and Bourque has good chemistry with Stank already. Losing Otter would be way worse than losing Earp. Playoffs being the different animal they are, i'm not sure Nils (o Stank) is really ready for the pounding he's gonna take, but he is ready to be given the opportunity.

  3. I couldn’t agree more on Nils! He’s earned it and a better threat than Hawk. Him and Suter pair well together for 5 and 6 d pairing. Love the show!

  4. The good thing about 'depth', is versatility and diversity. Being able to switch and shift as players are penalised or injured is a massive advantage. Bring on post season!

  5. Nils has the upper body of a teenager and will get lawnchaired in the playoffs. He skates and defends really good, but he is SCRAWNY!
Play him, but he will be targeted and crushed on the forecheck in the playoffs.

  6. As much as I love Orter, I’d elect to keep Johnson. Otter is not an improvement over Wedgwood nowadays. Sorry, I don’t want to say it but it’s true.
