OA Interview: Jacob Holmes



Tonight marks the culmination of Jacob Holmes’ illustrious OHL regular season career as the Kingston Frontenacs play host to the Brantford Bulldogs in the 2023-24 season finale. Hailing from Alliston, Ontario, Holmes was selected in the first round (18th overall) by the Soo Greyhounds during the 2019 OHL Priority Selection.

Throughout his journey, Jacob has showcased his talent across 240 career OHL games, donning the jerseys of four different teams. Starting with the Soo Greyhounds, he later made impactful stops in Sudbury and Windsor before concluding his remarkable tenure with Kingston for his overage season. Known for his exceptional leadership qualities, Jacob notably captained the Wolves and was entrusted with the role of wearing the “A” this season for the Frontenacs. As a defenseman with a powerful shot, he has notched an impressive tally of 23 goals, 68 assists, and 91 points over his four seasons in the league.

Adding to his achievements, Holmes was further recognized for his talent when he was drafted in the 5th round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars, selected 143rd overall.
